After Got7's promotions, Adele wanted to go out with a few of her friends to celebrate. Two sasaeng fans followed her and also watched her in a restaurant where she celebrated with her friends. They stayed hidden until they started chasing them when they were walking through the street. A few of her friends quickly took notice and started to run, pulling Adele along with them, but she didn't budge. She gave her friends her car keys and told them to get back to the car and let her deal with them.
Adele kindly stopped them and told them to stop following them, but they didn't listen and started to attack her. One of the sasaeng's began grabbing her arm and throwing nasty comments at her, while the other girl pulled her hair and slapped her face.
Adele harshly shoved them away and punched the girl. She warned them and told them to leave her alone. A video of them was posted but also twisted, making her the bad guy and claiming that the two girls only wanted a picture.
When this happened, a few people happened to peek and notice the fight and quickly spoke out the situation, telling everyone that these two were sasaengs and abused her. The bruises and marks on Adele's arms said a lot and this gained a lot of attention.
She also gained a lot of criticism and some thought she was faking it and making everything up. Her friends released their statements as well as JYP, talking about the situation. The two sasaengs later confessed and admitted their lies.
