Cerberus
He walked past me and toward the backyard. The scent of her was all over him and I went to counter but Damien was standing beside me, his eyes fixated on the back door.
Is he just going to let him walk away? What is with these two?
'You're going to just let him walk around smelling like her?' I asked him in disbelief.
Damien looked down at me and took a drink of his beer, "Not much I can do." He replied coldly, 'What do you mean? You're the Prince of Hell.' I reminded the idiot. Maybe the alcohol is getting to him? Should I stop him from drinking so much?
He cocked an eyebrow, "That's her Guardian Angel." He said low before walking toward his grandfather.
Wait-
But that means that Gaia is really upset. Really really upset. She never would send down one of her guardians for anything, she never has.
Shit. I may have fucked up a lot more than I meant to in this. Fuck, damn my stupidity.
Guardian Angels are never under any circumstance allowed to show themselves to their human. They're never allowed to touch, talk to, or even be amongst their human in any manner except to protect them from harm. They control it all from up above and have never been allowed to come back down.
This means Gaia really wants her protected, or, he came down to protect her from up there.
Either way...Damien stands no chance against a Guardian Angel and I think he realized that. The reason they're never allowed down on earth with their soul, is that some of them work with the same soul protecting it for centuries before the soul is passed onto Gaia or Satan. This means no one could ever know her, draw to her, or create a deeper bond to her than that of her guardian.
It's said that there is no love stronger than that of a guardian and the soul they protect.
Did Damien give up?
I watched as he sat on the sofa with Stacy moving next to him. Although he didn't advance onto her, he also didn't dismiss her. I could feel his hurt and pain, and despite the fact I wanted to help...I can't help but wonder if he's here to protect her soul now that it's being bargained in heaven and hell.
Trotting over to the self riotous asshole myself, I took in the fact that he was indeed handsome. I mean, I'm not into males, as they seem a bit underwhelming compared to the fire of the females, but he seems quite good looking.
"Hello Cerberus." He said staring into the fire pit, the few people around were heavy in makeouts in their chairs.
I sat up next to him and pondered my next move, 'You're here to protect her, aren't you?' I asked quietly.
He smirked, the lightest smirk, "Seems her souls become the most valuable creation in existence. I plan to protect it. As for her body, I don't mind what she does, she can continue her lust for the Prince, but that soul is mine. I've guarded it for sixteen hundred years. I'll guard it until the end of its rebirth." He said coldly as he met my eyes.
Right. I see now, 'And Gaia is okay with that?' I asked nervously.
The Angel simply looked from the sky back down to me, "You're being quite reckless by talking." He reminded me before walking back inside and leaving me to stand by this fire alone.
He's an asshole but I really do care for Bella, and although Damian's my Prince, I truly feel she should choose heaven or hell. I believe she has a choice and she should, but this guy...he just keeps bargaining away souls! First hers, now his own.
He's a pain in my ass some days and this-this is exactly why demons DO NOT fall in love. We're completely reckless, completely idiotic and honestly quite crude.
I'm extremely happy I can't see what Damian thinks, because something tells me that the dark and filthy fantasies he has about Bella wouldn't be truly to my liking.
The sound of Cleo's laugh came and she stumbled outside and up to the ring crawling in while Nathan followed her in. She wrestled him a bit, all playful and filled with sexual hot and heavy breaths. She pinned him down and began to grind on his crotch, he pinned her down and pressed up behind her. They wrestled again and wounded up making out in the ring, lost in the pool of lost stragglers locking lips.
A cat appeared beside me, her beautiful white coat and blue eyes too pretty to be a stray, 'My angels strayed. Keep an eye on him. You owe me this one for sparing your life.' Gaia.
I gave a single nod and she licked her paw before running off into the bushes.
I've never been able to speak to her. I just spoke to the goddess. I just...spoke to....the Goddess. The guys back home will never believe this. Ever.
Demons, especially my kind, were lucky if we even get to hear her name in the room we're in.
Wait, did she say he strayed?
This is getting a lot messier. "Come on you perverts, I got a cake to blow." Grandfather shouted from the window the couples and then laughed walking back inside.
I followed behind Cleo who was giving my head a million kisses, even those kisses couldn't settle the turning in my stomach though.
Bella was lighting the candles on the cake, her beautiful face filled with mixed emotions before she met my eyes and gave me a small wink.
I'll always have my eye on you in a crowd, sweet Bells.
She began the singing and I noticed the angel leaned up against the fridge, staring directly at her. Damien looks at her with a desire to tear the world apart to have her even for a moment. He looks at her like he wants to build a secret world to have her, even for a moment.
Very opposite ends.
Damian clapped as the song ended and as the old man blew out his candles, he kissed Bella's cheek and pulled her to his side proudly.
I couldn't help the joy in seeing her so happy for a moment. It ended once she noticed Stacy leaning into Damien's back cheering the old man.
Oh Damien, you idiot.
As Bella began cutting the cake, her mom quickly cut in and began doing it while telling her to go grab the napkins.
This was my moment!
Hurrying through the crowd and shoving a lot of people on my way, I followed her into the hall down to the garage. "Having fun?" She asked smiling from the door to me as she went in.
She shut and locked the garage and I released the hold on my stupid dog form feeling so comfortable in my skin.
"It's not bad, I've really been just following people around who give me food. Lots of people love feeding me." I half admitted while she laughed and reached up in the shelf grabbing the napkins, "Seems everyone's having a good time then." She leaned her back into the shelves, holding the napkins to her chest.
I could see why the battle spread from Hells gate, to Heavens gate...she was the most beautiful creation I've laid my eyes on.
"I'm sorry he's an idiot." I said aloud and felt dumb as soon as I said it but the tears that welled in her eyes told me she felt that deeper than I meant her to.
Her eyes focused on the napkins, "It's fine, he's not an idiot. He just has his preferences. I mean we aren't dating. We're just friends." She said forcing a smile up at me before she stared at the door being knocked on.
I shifted back to the dog form and nudged into her, 'You will always have me, if that means anything.' I spoke softly as she unlocked the door.
She smiled, a real one now, "That means everything." She said kissing my nose and then walking us out the garage.
The angel guy accidentally bumped into her and the two shared a laugh, her blush was heavy and she even looked behind to check him out as he walked past her. Interesting.
Yup. He gave up.
