The Forgotten Basketball (Kuroko Testuya x OC fanfiction)

Chapter 3: Nostalgia

Usami woke up to the light sound of rain. Her eyelids fluttered open, to see the slender shape of a boy's upper body. She couldn't see very clearly who he was, but knew that he was part of the basketball team, as she noticed the logo on his white shirt.

Suddenly she felt tense and conscious that she was being carried, like a princess. "U-Um..." she mumbled. The boy looked down at her and immediately she knew who he was. "K-Kuroko-s-senp-pai?" Usami's face had turned a dark shade of red. Kuroko gave her a warm smile, as if to reassure her that everything is going to be alright. That smile seemed to flicker something in the back of her head. It looked so familiar, as if she had seen it somewhere or sometime before.

The silence caressed Usami's skin like a cool summer breeze, smoothing her soul, taking away her jagged edges. All she could hear was the light thumps of Kuroko's footsteps and the light rustle of the leaves on the trees. Although the silence was soothing, the air had somewhat become extremely awkward. "Wh-where are the others?" Usami asked, trying breaking the silence. "Training is already over." He replied, "Everyone was worried that you might've passed out, especially Riko. She was going to take you home, but I insisted, since we live really close to each other."

They were only a few minutes away from her house when Usami had a thought. How does Kuroko-senpai know where I live? Maybe Riko had given him my address. But what if he was some sort of stalker? A chill went up her spine. Thoughts were buzzing through her head as they arrived in front of her house and Kuroko gently let her down. Should I ask? She thought. "U-Um, Kuroko-senpai." Usami called as he slowly turned around to face her. "Thank you for today, I must repay you back somehow. But I'd like to ask, how did you know where I live?" Kuroko gave another one of his gentle smiles and replied, "This isn't the first time we have met, Usami-chan."
