Izuku didn't take the news well. When he was finally released reporters and fans lined up waiting for him to come out. Their hearts shattered seeing how bad things were. His hair was longer, and he was much thinner. His eyes were dead and cold as Inko had pushed him out in his wheelchair. Yet he had a big smile on his face as if he were happy.

Everyone knew he was faking, but just egged him on. They didn't care to ask what he truly felt. As Inko got him in the van, a tear rolled down his cheek. After a long car ride he was finally home. As Inko pushed him inside he took in everything. The lavender walls, the pine wooden floors, the open space. He took a deep breath in smelling the lemon scent he missed. His sister ran over hugging him.

"I'm so glad your home! " Eri squealed. Izuku slowly hugged back. "Yeah. Hah! It's good to be back"Izuku smiled fakely. Kota hugged him. "We moved your room downstairs so you wouldn't have to go up and down stairs!" He smiled. Izuku's smile faded a little. "Y-You what?"  Kota ran over to the spare room, Izuku followed behind him in his wheelchair. Eri smiled "We even painted ocean waves on your wall!"

Izuku's face darkened as he remembered the ocean. He remembered how it threw him around, and dragged him down. He tightened his grip staring at the floor "T-Thank you. I need some air. "He teared up going onto the balcony. Eri looked at Inko "Mama? Did I do something wrong?" Inko shook her head calmly hugging her. "Of course not honey. He just needs time to adjust"

A month soon went by and Izuku's mental state only got worse. He shut everything and everyone out. He refused to talk or look at anything that had to do with water or surfing. His mom tried to get him to eat, but he secretly would force himself to throw it up. He grew further into his low hurting himself more and more.

Inko walked into his room "Izuku. Izu honey please get up. I need you to watch the house. I have to take the kids out to soccer and basketball tonight."Her voice was gentle, but worried. He finally replied with a grunt "kay!" She took the two kids getting in the van. Izuku laid in his room listening to the silence of the empty house. It was about 6 in the evening and the sun was barely beginning to set. He slowly sat up, and pulled himself into his wheelchair. His legs dragging limbly behind him.

Izuku moved his wheelchair slowly over to the window looking out at the ocean. Memories flashing of what happened played over and over in his head. "Keep breathing! It's gonna be ok!" Uraraka's words echoed faintly through his mind.

Suddenly his mom's words following "Please! Please I need you to fight baby. I need you to be ok again!"

He felt a lump in his throat as he reached for his neck trying to breathe. He heard the waves crashing.

"If you love something, never lose it son. Look to the water son, you'll find the way. " His father's words echoed in his mind.

Izuku stared at the floor angrily. He couldn't understand why the one thing he loved was taken from him. He threw a vase against the wall watching it shatter. "ARE YOU HAPPY NOW OLD MAN!? ARE YOU HAPPY THAT I CAN'T SURF!? IS THIS WHAT YOU FUCKING WANTED!! " He felt like he was shattering. All he wanted was to surf. He moved his wheelchair to the edge of the balcony. He pulled himself out falling onto the sand. He crawled, his legs dragging behind him yet it felt as if they weren't there. He couldn't bare it.

"Mama! Surfing is my life!!! It's all I have of dad!!"

"Maybe! Just maybe! Life is trying to preserve you! I'm trying to keep you alive Izuku!"

"I DON'T FEEL ALIVE ANYMORE! I CAN'T FEEL ANYTHING ANYMORE!!"

His heart raced, he clawed at the sand not stopping. Memories flashing through his head as he felt his blood pumping.

"WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU IZUKU!? YOUR MEDICATION ISN'T FOR YOU TO DEVOUR, IT'S TO HELP THE PAIN!! ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL YOURSELF!?"Inko cried out frantically to Izuku. "ALL I FUCKING FEEL IS PAIN!!!IT HURTS TO BE ALIVE!!! I HATE THIS!"Izuku snapped. "DO YOU THINK THIS IS EASY FOR US!? WE LOST YOU ONCE IZUKU, WE WILL NOT LOSE YOU AGAIN!!"

Izuku sobbed as he crawled closer to the water, his arms burning. "Just one more time, please, it's all I need. Please." He cried his fingertips reaching and barely touching the wet sand. He crawled out further, soon his arms in the water. A male with dual colored hair, was watching in the distance. He usually came by the beach for peace and quiet. He looked over seeing Izuku's wheelchair but no-one was near it. He saw a trail and his eyes followed it to Izuku who was now further in the water. Shoto froze "What the hell!?" He started running towards Izuku not knowing what was happening, but knew the water was dangerous.

Izuku soon was paddling out, his legs dragging him down. He didn't mind, if he was to die, he wanted the one thing he loved to kill him. He had nothing, without his surf. Shoto ran faster hoping he could reach whoever it was in time. He took off his shoes and shirt quickly throwing them onto the sand. He ran towards the water, watching the other male disappear from view. Izuku slowly stopped paddling and sank under the water, the waves crashing down on him only pushing him further. He could feel his lungs burn but he loved the pain.

Shoto swam as fast as he could. His long arms breaking through the water with his strides. He dove under seeing Izuku, and swam down. He grabbed the other male's hand and pulled him back up to the surface. Whether this person wanted to be saved or not, Shoto refused to let him die. Izuku gasped for air once they reached for the surface. Shoto pulled him with him back to shore.

He laid Izuku on the sand checking for any injuries. "It's gonna be ok remain calm". Izuku was flooded with confusion, anger, and fear. He gripped onto Shoto his mind searching for a reaction. Shoto's piercing heterochromia eyes stared into Izuku's green ones. His stare went right to Shoto's soul. "I...I didn't ask for your help!"Izuku finally stifled out.

Shoto shrugged "That doesn't matter. You clearly need it. What the hell were you thinking!?" The echo of sirens grew louder in the distance. " You called the cops!? " Izuku snapped. "No! I called for an ambulance! Now, I will ask again what the hell were you thinking!?" Izuku went quiet. What was he thinking? His mind was flooded and all he wanted was some clarity.

"LET ME DIE DAMMIT!" Izuku screamed as Shoto held him down. It didn't take long for medics to arrive on scene as well as Inko. Her eyes filled with horror as she watched her son being loaded once again on an ambulance. Her eyes met Shoto's, it was like a cry for answers. He walked towards her and before he could explain what happen Inko hugged him. Her frail body held onto his for dear life.

" Thank you..stranger.. "She whispered as the ambulance took Izuku to the hospital. Shoto flinched before he slowly hugged her back. "M-ma'am I'm just glad I was able to make it.." Shoto mumbled.

"Dammit. That was a close one. I need to be more careful..but I want to know who that broken soul was" Shoto thought as he held Inko.
