Izuku hadn't heard from Shoto since they both had their first kiss and told eachother I love you. Did it all mean nothing? Was it a lie? Truth was Shoto was dealing with abuse, and troubling news. His face grew pale as he anxiously paced in his bedroom. He had been ignoring all of Izuku's texts and calls. How was he going to tell him? Fuyumi came into his room with a gentle gaze "Why are you spending the beginning of summer trapped in your room? You may not have a lot of time but hey.. spend what you have wisely." she said as she pulled him into a hug.

How could she say that? Yet she had a point. Being cooped up inside was only making Shoto go crazy. "I guess avoiding him won't fix anything huh?" He sighed. He shot Izuku a text that he was coming over, and put on makeup to hide the bruises and exhaustion. "Let me help"Fuyumi smiled softly and helped him. She had the touch of their mother who he missed so much. "Thanks". He smiled and left quickly before Enji got home.

Izuku was laying on his bed when he saw Shoto texted him. He was angry that he ghosted him for so long but was grateful that he responded at all. He pulled himself into his chair and went to the door. Was this a good idea? Oh how he couldn't wait to scold him. Shoto knocked on the door only to be met by a grumpy Izuku.. oh shit.

Shoto didn't look well but before Izuku could say anything he repeatedly apologized. "You ghosted me you should be sorry!"Izuku whined. Shoto kneeled down "I know, I know. Please let me make it up to you and take you out on a date hm?" Izuku's eyes lit up as he nodded "I'd love that, where too and when?"

"This evening, I'll come by around 6 and it'll be a real nice restaurant."

"I look forward to it"

6:00 came by and Izuku wheeled into the room wearing a nice tuxedo. Inko smiled "Oh my god.."She smiled with tears in her eyes. "What mom?"He asked nervously. "You look so handsome."she smiled. A soft knock was heard as Shoto stood at the front door. He was wearing a similar tux to Izuku only instead of green and black, it was black and red. "Ooh! Both my boys look so handsome." Inko squealed as she saw Shoto. "Thank you Ms. Midoriya"- "Call me Inko"She smiled "Now go have fun" She shooed them out the door.

She wasn't wrong, they had fun. They talked, ate, and laughed. Izuku couldn't believe he actually went on a date with an amazing guy like Shoto. As the night came to an end Shoto walked him home. They passed by the hospital but for some reason Shoto stopped. A woman was crying which drew him over to her.

"Ma'am what's wrong?"He asked calmly as Shoto pulled the crying woman into his arms. "M-my husband needs a new heart. He's dying."She sobbed as she covered her face with her eyes. Shoto just held her softly rubbing her back. He seemed frozen in shock.. He stared at the ground gravely "I'm sure they will find one ma'am." he comforted her. He was quiet when the woman went back into the hospital. Izuku watched him cheer up a stranger, that's who he is. He smiled brightly and hugged Shoto. Shoto seemed off but izuku paid no mind "You are the greatest." "Oh- Thanks"He slowly hugged back.

Shoto was quiet the rest of the way home as izuku rambled. He didn't think anything of it since Shoto was always tired. They said their goodbyes only it was different. Izuku pulled him close and kissed him just before he left. He came into the house with a beaming smile as Inko flooded him with questions. For Shoto it wasn't as happy. He came in the house only to be yelled at. He stumbled into his room quickly taking his pills as Fuyumi rushed to his side.

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN BOY?!" Enji boomed from the hallway.

"N-nowhere sir.. just out on dinner"

"DO NOT LIE"-

"Dad leave shoto be he's not well" Fuyumi growled as she laid him down to rest. Shoto didn't see much he was so tired. He saw Enji strike Fuyumi across the face as their yelling muffled. Tears brimmed the corners of his eyes as he closed them tiredly. "Please wake up tomorrow.." he whispered to himself. Sure enough that morning he did.

Summer seemed to fly by for Izuku and Shoto. They both started dating more, Izuku began teaching kids how to surf, and all seemed to be going well. But was it really? Shoto was seeming off and Izuku was starting to feel it. Was it him? He hoped it wasn't. Izuku started to feel less and less as he drifted off. Nightmares were getting to both him and Shoto, but whenever Shoto slept over he hid them well from Izuku.

They went on a date to the new aquarium. Both of them had a good time, afterward they went on the board walk. Shoto saw something at the board walk but Izuku was too in his head to see the tired look in Shoto's eyes or how much pain he was in. It got harder for Shoto to move but he just wanted to make it special for Izuku... he was determined too. Izuku held the manatee stuffie close as Shoto took him in the empty house. "I forgot Inko said she'd be out of town today." He chuckled softly. Izuku stared at the floor as Shoto carried him upstairs laying him on the bed.

'Daddy come on! There's dolphins, there's dolphins!'
'Yes I can see, nature is beautiful.'

Izuku looked at the floor not even feeling Shoto lift him. He glanced up his fist tightening "I'm tired.." He mumbled. Shoto looked at him knowing definitely something was wrong. He kissed his head as he set him down. "Baby what's"- He was cut off by a sharp pain as he hissed. Lucky for him Izuku didn't notice. He cleared his throat "Baby what's wrong?"

"You wouldn't understand!"

"Then baby help me understand"
