josh and tessa made their way to the outside part of the restaurant where they would meet up with tessa's mother, genevieve, and sister.

they sat down, waiting for tessa's mother and sister. tessa's nervousness was visible to her boyfriend who snaked an arm around her waist and pulled her closer.

"you good, baby?" josh asked, pressing a kiss to her hairline.

tessa nodded. "i know charlotte loves you," she smiled. "but what if my mom doesn't?" josh looked down at her. "it's okay. you have nothing to worry about."

tessa pecked his lips, quickly hugging him before she saw her mother and sister walking toward them.

"speak of the devils." tessa chuckled, standing up and walking toward the two. "hi momma." tessa hugged her mother. "hey tess." her mom replied.

"hey char." she gave her sister a side hug and josh stood behind her, smiling at the sight.

tessa turned and grabbed his hand. "mom, this is josh." she smiled, so did her mother. "nice to meet you, mrs. dawson." josh said, shaking her hand.

"please, call me gen." she smiled and the four sat down.

they ordered drinks and began to talk. "so how long have you two known each other?" gen asked, smiling at the couple.

"actually we hung out the first day liv and i moved here." tessa squeezed josh's hand gently and laid her head on his shoulder. "can you guys not be all lovey dovey?" charlotte asked and fake gagged.

"shut up, char." josh laughed and kissed tessa's forehead.

after they ate, before genevieve and charlotte were going to leave, tessa's mom hugged josh. "i can tell your good for her, so treat her right." gen smiled.

"i will, gen." josh then hugged charlotte. "be good for your mom, kiddo." charlotte smiled and nodded.

tessa hugged her mom and sister. "love you guys."

they parted ways and all left, letting josh and tessa go back to the sway house.
