It was 4am on the day of Black Friday. It was early enough that people weren't bustling around to make sure that they could get their gifts at a seemingly low price yet. So to start the day, Lex decided to stop by Beanies to wake herself up. She played some random hard rock songs in order to keep herself up until she got there but it still didn't stop her eyes drooping a bit. She sighed as she slammed the door of her car with frustration as she could do it with just a small motion.

With a bit of a slouch and a monotone voice, she asked for a coffee with two packets of sugar. "Alright ma'am, comin' right up." The only response you got was a small hum. She watched you as you worked behind the counter. The two of you made eye contact once you handed her the drink. "Here you go, miss." You felt a slight shiver down your arm as her hand brushed against yours. Lex quickly looked away and mumbled a thanks before sitting at one of the booths. She mindlessly scrolled through her phone until her drowsiness got to her.

Standing behind the counter, waiting for customers, you decided to check up on the ones who were currently there. You went around, asking people if they wanted either refills or extra snacks, before stopping at the girl from earlier who looked tired. "Excuse me…" you said as you nudged her awake. Her head then jerked up towards you before she placed her hand on her chest. "Jesus, you scared me." Embarrassed, you quickly said "sorry, sorry. I was just wondering if you wanted a refill…" She gave a small nod.

You came back and had a hint of a smile because of the sight in front of you. She was asleep once again. You set the drink down in front of her and she woke up from hearing the cup set down on the table. "Thanks…" You hummed and then walked back to the counter.

After about an hour of her eyeing you as you worked, Lex realized she had to leave for her own job. "Gotta go." She mumbled as she put a tip in the jar. "Wait," you said, stopping her. She turned around to face you gesturing at the sign in front of the jar. "You get a song for a tip…," She hesitated, deciding whether or not to make her manager more pissed off that she's not at work yet. She shrugged, "sure." You gave her a soft smile that gave her butterflies in her stomach. You sang the solo part of the tip song that you had to learn from Zoey.

You finished the song and made eye contact with her again. Her mouth was partly open due to your voice, "you sounded… nice…" she said awkwardly, not really knowing how to compliment someone since she never had anyone to compliment. "Thanks," you gave her a small grin. "Have a good day mi-", "Lex." She interrupted. You hummed then repeated her name softly. You liked the way it rolled off your tongue. Her face had a tint of red when you said it again.

You took out your hand so that she could shake it, "Well then, nice to meet you, Lex." She stared at your hand before glancing up at you. You nodded at her, giving her a non-verbal signal that it was alright. She still hesitated but gave you a handshake. "Have a good day, Lex." You said again but this time with her name. "Y-you too…" She said before walking to the door. She gave you one last look before she left, causing your ears to burn up a bit.

She was exhausted by the end of her shift at Toy-Zone, which totally makes sense because it was Black Friday. She had to face angry/annoyed customers at the customer service and had to break up multiple fights over popular toys. She was surprised she didn't end up dead from how intense some of them were. Nonetheless, she still had to stay awake in order to make it home safely.

So, she decided to go to Beanies once again. When Lex stopped at the place, her eyes made contact with yours as she looked through the window. You gave her a soft smile and she returned it as she recognized you as the worker who served her earlier. "Tired again?" You asked as she walked up to the counter. She nodded. "so, what would you like?", she asked for a cup of coffee with two packets of sugar again but to-go.

"Okay Lex, I'll get right on that." One of her eyebrows lifted, "you remembered my name?" You gained sudden confidence as you wrote something on the cup. "I'd never forget a cute face." Her eyes widened at what you said. "What?" You froze, fully realizing what you said to her. "I- um, i-it's no-nothing, nevermind…", you stuttered as you gave her the drink. "Thanks..." she said, the situation becoming awkward. You gave her a smile while rubbing the back of your neck, "n-no problem..."

"What's your name?" Lex asked. "It's (y/n)...", "nice to meet you again, (y/n)." You both smiled at each other before Lex left as she took a drink of her coffee. She got in her car and went home while drinking her coffee a bit more, which woke her up more than how she was before. When she made it home, she set the drink down on the counter. As she left to change into her pajamas, she saw something written with black marker on the cup. She walked to back it to see what it said.

"In case if you want to talk more - (xxx)-xxx-xxxx, (y/n)"
