I'm Not Alone With You(A short story)

~chapter 1~

"JESS!!!!" My mom cries out for me to come downstairs.

I grab the last of my things and run down the stairs...and being the clumsy girl I am I trip over my own feet. My bum hits the ground and I hiss in pain.

"You okay?" My dad asks.
"I'm fine, thanks" I respond.
"Well we have to get going! We'll miss our flight."

My parents are leaving to go to Washington because some family thing came up....and I can't come! I really didn't understand why, but I chose to roll with it. My mom said that I was going to stay with one of her friends from work. Which I didn't understand either! I could stay with grandma and grandpa or something but no!

~10 mins later~

We arrive at a big White House! It's beautiful with vines climbing up the house. My dad grabs my bags out of the car and we walk up to the door step.
I ring the doorbell, a women answers with a warming smile.
"Hi I'm Mrs. June! You must be Jessica." The women says

"Please call me Jess" I say.
"Okay, Jess. This is Spenser, he'll show you to your room while I talk to your father."

I nod and take my bags, following Spencer. He's tall and has rusty brown hair. We walk up and flight of stairs and he leads me to a room. It's very plain and has a window with a balcony! I hear the front door shut and my parents back out of the driveway!
"I never said goodbye!" I mutter under my breath. My breathing increases, forgetting that Spencer was in the room he asks, "Are you okay?"

"I never got to say goodbye to my parents!" I say.
"Your parents dropped you off!? That's messed up!" Spencer says with disgust in his tone.
"What do you mean?" I ask confused.
"Do you know where you even are?" He asks.
I simply respond by shaking my head! I'm really confused! I find courage to speak up, "where am I?"

Spencer takes a while to answer, "your at a foster home."
