I'm Not Alone With You(A short story)

~chapter 4~

"Okay." she says still worried. I smile at her and kiss her forehead.
"I'm going to my room to clean up alright." She nods her head and turns to start cleaning.

I hear footsteps coming up the stairs and I also overhear talking.
"So Mr. Horan, what are you looking for?"

"A girl, like in her teens." oh no oh no oh no!!!!! Jess....

"Alright, follow me." Mrs. June is walking towards Jess's room! Alright Nate think of something mmmmmmm. I've got it!

"Heyyyy, Mrs. June I think Jess is coming down with a fever!" I say.

"Oh I'm sure she's fine, we're heading to her room right now actually."
"Great"...I say tears forming in my eyes. I never cry but I love Jess she's my world and this jerk is going to take her away from me and I know it! I follow them to her room. Mrs. Junes knocks on Jess's door. Jess opens the door revealing her beautiful face. She looks at me and sees my expression, then her face shows worry.

"Mr. Horan this is Jessica." Jess rolls her eyes annoyed by her name.

"It's Jess!" Jess speaks up. Mrs. Junes ignores her and continues talking. I look over at Mr. Horan to see him smirking. They walk back down stairs to her office...

Jess literally runs into my arms and starts crying. "Why! My life is miserable! I want to stay here with you." Jess says in between sobs.

"I know baby. I want you to stay here too." I say leaning my forehead onto hers.

"JESSICA!" We hear Mrs. Junes call. Jess's breathing instantly increases. She starts walking away, when she got halfway down the hall she look back with hopeful eyes then continued walking.

~Jessica's pov~
I walk as slow as I can down the stairs. Maybe the guy is gone and Mrs. June just needs something... I doubt it though. I quickly wipe my tears and walk into Mrs. Junes office.

"Jess go pack your bags while Mr. Horan fills out the adoption papers." Mrs. Junes says.

"Doesn't this process take longer!?" I ask.

"Well Mr. Horan has an adoption permit so he's able to sign the papers right now! So go pack your bags."

I can't help but stand there, wandering off into space, confused, and scared.

"Now!" Mrs. Junes says sternly.

I turn and run upstairs and into my bedroom. I garb my bags and all of my clothes with everything els I owned. I pack everything like I'm a robot, still shocked.

"I'm going to miss you so much Jess!" I hear Nate say in between sobs.

I turn around to see a crying Nate just standing there. I walk up to him and crash my lips to his. Surprisingly he kisses back! "I love you Jessica, I really do and I have no regrets, your the best thing that has ever happened to me!" I'm super shocked I'm head over heels for this guy and he loves me back!

"I love you too." I say. He smiles and pulls me into a hug. For some reason all of this isn't awkward us saying these things just feel so right, and it's feels so real!

"I'm going to miss you so much!" I say.

"Me too, but if that man ever touches you please call me!" He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a piece of paper with the foster centers number on it. "promise you will call me if something goes wrong."

"I promise," I say.

"JESS!!!" An annoyed Mrs. Junes calls. I look up at Nate taking in his features one last time.

"Goodbye Nate."

"No it's not goodbye! I'm gonna see you again!" He says, then kisses me with a passionate kiss.

"See you later," I say.

"See you later Jess." Nate says with a lot of sadness in his tone.

I grab my things and walk past him, I reach the stairwell and look back at him looking at him one last time before I go. "See ya Nate," I whisper to myself.
