there is darkness in every heart,
and sometimes, it wins.
TRAGEDY SEEMED TO FOLLOW LUNA LIKE A SHADOW.
An infant abandoned to a world unknown, but a world she could call home. One heart shared among them—wind, earth, water and aether—and a bond she once believed no force could bend, and how wrong she had been. The world she called home crumbled to dust before her eyes and forsaken to a mysterious tower, aether watched one by one as wind, earth and water disappeared into shadow: I won't be gone long. Remember that I gave you your name for a reason—just like the moon guides the tide, you will always guide us home. Hours turned into days, days turned into years, and alone in the world she remained; it was underneath the stars, much like the ones they admired together, that young Luna had finally come to accept that the missing fragments of her heart would never.
Returned to her world of origin, she was brought up as any other star child would be—put through the Academia, trained in the arts of intellect, combat and control; her people, born with the power of channeling the realm's light through the aether and all its cosmic forces, welcomed her with open arms. Once more, in a place where friendship and purpose came in abundance, the wandering heart found a home, but it was not to last. As her power grew and grew, the whispers of an ancient prophecy echoed within her master's ears.
O Chosen One, the stars have long foretold,
the power and might you were born to hold.
O Star Child, beware your heart above all,
for to darkness it will one day be inthralled.
O Dark Heart, your fate the stars divined,
to deepest oblivion, to the void you are consigned.
O Benighted Soul, cast under your darkest pall,
every world, every heart beneath the stars soon will fall.A prophecy of Kyemi antiquity, thought to be no more than superstitious drivel for eons, was coming to fruition before his eyes; with every fiber of his being, he believed that this child under his tutelage to be the one chosen by destiny to bring about the universe's bane. He could see it in her eyes, feel it in every cosmic manipulation—she was a deadly poison in the flesh, and though he wished there was another way, he knew she needed to be eliminated before that time could ever come to pass. And so, in the dark of the night, the master moved to strike her down, but she would not fall.
