Chapter Eight
H is for I’m not a Hero
Harrison looked down at his phone to see fifteen missed calls from Clara, He picked up the phone and called message bank.
“Hey Harrison this is Clara, I um really need to talk to you. It’s urgent...” Clara’s tearful voice disconnected the line went dead as Harrison hang onto the phone’s last message.
Harrison not in the mood to know what the trouble was just threw his phone back onto the bed and went back to his desk turning the volume of is iPod right up loud, the heavy metal music blaring in his ears.
Obviously Harrison never heard the phone go off again, as he typed fanatically some paper he was writing on his laptop. However he did see the email notification pop up on his screen from my blog Talk of The Town.
Interested to read more than just my headline for the notification I’d written called ‘Queen Bee with Child Rumours.’
Harrison clicked the link and once the page downloaded saw the pictures I’d montage together to create the article.
Queen Bee with Child
Recent scandal has arised since Upper East Side’s Darling D dumped one Queen C for cheating with a classic sleaze H that Queen C is pregnant with ‘Love Child.’
Sources tell me this is only recent news, and so it’s looking like Ladies and Gentleman that the New York City’s Crown is up for grabs. After all no one does teen pregnancy like a Howard-Williams Scorned!
Within a heartbeat Harrison is racing for his phone pressing numbers in like a bomb is about to explode.
“Hello?” answers Clara’s voice timidly, she still sounds like she’s crying.
“Clara is it true what Talk of The Town is saying, you’re pregnant with my...”
Clara cuts Harrison off before he can say more, “She taking me away this afternoon to somewhere upstate. I don’t want to go, I’m scared!” Clara cries.
“Clara I’m not someone who is going to play Daddy if you keep it!” Harrison surprises himself as he shouts the words into the phone.
“Please Harrison, help me...” Clara says as the phone goes dead like someone has disconnected the call on her.
“SHIT!” says Harrison as he races out the door.
There isn’t even time to wait for a town car Harrison decides as he races out the front door running a marathon down the street.
“I can’t be a hero!” he says under his breath as he runs along turning sharply around the corner nearly knocking someone down.
Finally he reaches the Howard-Williams Grand Hotel and sees the town car parked outside the entrance waiting to drive off as the final bags are put into the car. Harrison can see Mrs. Howard-Williams pulling Clara by the arm out the door as the Doorman holds it open.
Clara is screaming through tears “Let me go.” And all Harrison could do was watch on, watch as Clara became a victim once again.
“Clara, I’ll...” Harrison begins to say hold out his arm to her, but Mrs. Howard-Williams body guard pushes Harrison away.
Once Clara is in the car Mrs. Howard-Williams walks over to where Harrison is standing.
“You should have been more careful Harrison Andrews your own father wouldn’t like hearing of this sort of scandal not after what all the papers have published about you during the years!” and with that Mrs. Howard-Williams also gets into the town car and it begins to drive a way
If only that were true Harrison though calculating all the scandal he’d done in the years as a silly school boy. Nothing compared to His father’s scandal of raping an innocent teenage girl, that girl being Clara. The secret tied them together like string, but He couldn’t say it out aloud it was hard to admit you got a girl pregnant but it’s even harder to admit to yourself not just someone else your own Father is a pedofile.
Harrison could see Clara looking back at him, her hands outstretched and tears falling down both their faces.
Harrison’s phone buzzes in his pocket he lifts it out to see a text.
You couldn’t play the hero in this game even if you tried.
Harrison turned and began to walk away in disgust.
H couldn’t be the Hero even if he tried; then again I’m not one to be mad if I was proven wrong. A guy can’t just disappear for two years and come back from a military school without a little bit of soldier attitude, but H could prove me wrong.
After all he’s always been the dark Horse in this world...
