Chapter 2: The party

"Yeah, you're right. That was what I needed." I agreed with Amber. This week has been rough. So many questions have been asked about me and Andru. I told them that he wasn't the one for me and I knew that everyone thought it was dumb.. but I  didn't want everyone to hate Andru.

"I told you. Now what do you want to eat. I don't know why you couldn't just get something at the mall. I mean.. there are so many choices and you  just-" I stopped listening and started to think about Jake. Why was he looking at me like that? and why did he give me that bracelet. I looked down at my shirt and saw PTV in huge gold letters with a white crown under it. Oh. My shirt. But that doesn't explain the look he gave me.

"Taco bell?" 

"Yeah sure."

We pulled into the Taco Bell parking lot and walked in. After standing in line and ordering, we went to go find a seat.  That's when i saw Andru and Shelby walk through the door. He scanned the place and then locked eyes with me. His face got bright red and then he turned to the counter.

"What the fuck is he doing here?"

"Well, it is a pretty popular food place.." I said.

"Well he saw your car. He had to know that you were here. How many people in this tiny town drive a  Sentra."

"Who cares? It's okay. I mean it's not like i am going to talk to-"

"Hey," a familiar voice said.

I looked up and saw Andru standing by my booth with a tray of tacos.

"Uh.. hi."

"Look, I-"

"I think you just need to go sit down and eat your tacos with your whore." Amber cut in.

"These aren't mine.. I just wanted to bring you your food."

"Well, okay. You brought us it. Goodbye now."

Amber hasn't always been the nicest person to Andru. and now that she knows what he did, she is never going to be nice at all. Andru looked at me and then to the floor and walked away.

"THE NERVE that people have nowadays is going to make me angry. He knows what he did to you, he shouldn't be here."

"I know.. can we go drive around and eat?"

"Of course, Lynn. I understand."

We arrived at my house around 6. 

"Honey, is that you?" My mom called from the kitchen.

"Yeah, Mom. It's me and Amber."

"Hello Amber! Are you staying for dinner? I am making lasagna!"

"Sure Mrs. Speck!" Amber yelled.

"Okay. We will be upstairs!"

I went straight into the bathroom and put my hair into a messy bun and changed into sweats.

"Uh.. What are you doing?" Amber looked at me with a weird look.

"Changing into my relaxing clothes?"

"Well, whatever. But just so you know, you will be changing again in about 2 hours."

I sighed. "and why is that?"

"Kim and Kate's party is tonight!"

"Oh yeah.. I wasn't really planning to-"

"Too bad. You are going and you can't say anything about it."

"Fine."

"DINNER TIME!"
