The wind blew, causing Ella’s hair to flow behind her while she sat on the grass. She heard a cry that sounded like her name coming from behind her. Ella looked up and saw her best friend, Miyoko, who was in the night class.
Day class and night class students weren’t supposed to mix, it being against the rules and all, but Miyoko and Ella bent the rules and met up whenever they could. The Headmaster wasn’t pleased with this, but he overlooked the fact that the rules weren’t being followed. After all, what was going on with his daughter Yuki, and his adopted son, Zero, was breaking all kinds of rules.
“Hey. How are you doing?”
“Oh, I’m fine. Just a little thirsty. That’s all,” Miyoko replied, while rubbing her arm.
Ella looked up at Miyoko’s arm and saw a flash of something that looked like blood. Her hand shot out, and grabbed her friend’s arm. “What is this?” she asked angrily. There was what appeared to be puncture marks on Miyoko’s arm. “Oh that? That’s nothing,” she said while shaking her head in protest, giving a weak smile.
“Miyoko, tell me,” Ella growled in a commanding voice as she stood up.
“T-Th-They’re b-bite marks,” she stuttered.
“From what?” Ella asked, in a voice Miyoko knew so well. It was the voice that meant she was close to exploding.
“W-w-well, I’m a vampire, and another one bit me so…” Miyoko opened up her mouth as far as she could, and let her fangs show. The canines protruded from her upper jaw, just barely touching the soft, pink bottom lip underneath.
“What the fuck?” Ella gasped. Her face slowly drained of color, and her eyes widened. She slowly backed up, leaning against the wall. Thunder crackled overhead and it started raining.
“I wanted to tell you--“ Miyoko started to explain.
“Just shut up and leave, monster!” she yelled as she put her head between her knees. Ella didn’t look up, not even when she heard the footsteps of her best friend running away.
It could have been hours or minutes or days, but Ella didn’t care. She just sat there, mumbling to herself, and let the rain run over her, soaking her clothes.
That was how Zero found her later, sopping wet, and incoherent. “Hey. It’s past curfew for the day class students.” Ella didn’t respond, she just kept mumbling to herself. Zero couldn’t understand what she was saying. He waved a hand in front of her face while crouching down to get closer. “Hello? Anybody in there?” Suddenly Zero could hear what she was saying.
“Vampires? What, no! That’s impossible. Monsters aren’t real.” Zero stiffened at the word vampires, visibly uncomfortable. His eyes flashed red, the urge of all vampires' thirst appearing, but he got control of himself and resisted, knowing he would regret it later.
“Come on. Let’s get you back to your dorm.” He picked her up bridal style, and walked to the sun dorms. “Which dorm is yours? Wait, you room with Yuki and Wakaba, right?” Zero walked down the hall, and stopped in front of her room. He opened the door, and saw that Yuki and Wakaba were asleep. “Good, less trouble of having to explain.” He laid Ella down on the empty bed, and put a blanket over her. He walked out of the room, but turned back at the door. “Tch. Night.” He then continued on his way out of the dorms.

Miyoko turned, and ran. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. You shouldn’t have found out like this.” Tears blinded her as she ran; she didn’t want her best friend to be mad at her.
Miyoko ran into the moon dorms, rushing past everybody. “H-hey, what’s wrong?” Aidou asked. She ignored him and went up into her bedroom, slamming the door shut. She leaned against the wall, breathing heavily. Miyoko slid down the wall, and put her hands in her face.
Miyoko couldn’t sleep. Her eyes kept flashing between red and green, and her fangs kept sliding out. Her throat burned, aching to feel the cool relief of blood flowing down it. But she resisted, and stayed like that the rest of the night.

Senri looked the direction Miyoko ran. “What’s up with her?” he asked. Hanabusa shook his head, “I don’t know. It probably has to do something with me drinking her blood earlier. Her friend probably saw the bite marks and put two and two together.”
He shrugged his shoulders and took a sip from his glass. Senri whipped his head around and looked at Hanabusa. He shook with a quiet rage.
“You drank her blood?”
“Yeah. So what man? It’s not that big of a deal, I mean I only took a little. Those blood tablets weren’t satsyfy--“ He was cut off by Senri grabbing his throat and pinning him to the wall.
“Listen to me. You do not drink her blood. Ever again. You got that?” “Yes.” Hanabusa squeaked out, his voice barely a whisper. “Good.” Senri let go and the blond fell to the floor. They both walked to their rooms and ignored everybody for the rest of the night.
