Haley's POV:
Kats late. Again. But with all that shit she puts on I'm surprised when she shows up at all. She pulls eyes in every room she walks in. Not because she's overly attractive. Just her style is... different. Today I watch as my best friend strolls into McQueen (our fav burger restaurant) in fishnets, tiny shorts and a black band hoodie that practically engulfs her 5'0 self. Her makeups as exaggerated as usual. Black lipstick thick eyeliner with spikes under the eyes and an enormous amount of blush on her nose. To others it's freakish and weird to me and my friends, it's just kat.
"Aye!! Kat! Over here!" Nikki yells at her from where we occupied a large table for all six of us. When kat sees us she smiles. Her round cheeks being pushed up and her dimples revealing themselves. She waves like a giddy little girl and hops up to the table. There's no chairs left and before anyone can get her one she plops herself on my lap, and steals a couple fries off my plate.
It took Kate awhile to even eat around us. Apparently she has an overwhelming fear of us judging her.
"I thought you'd think I'm just a fat girl stuffing myself." Were her words exactly. Not true of course. Chubby girls eat just like the rest of us right? Why judge em. Also took her awhile to do anything like sit on me. She's a round girl. Not fat. Just alittle bit of meat on her. Her thoughts on that were about the same.
"I'm a pig, Haley I'd crush you in seconds." Again. Not a true statement but there was no telling her that.
"So what are we doin today?" She asked after leaning back against me and letting me grab hold of her so she doesn't slide off me.
Nikki shrugs.
"I don't know. We could go to the lake again if you guys want?" Always the plan maker Nikki pitches ideas at us and just sees which one sticks. Everyone agrees but I know kat to well.
Giving her alittle squeeze brush the hair behind her ear.
"Don't worry, there's a floaty in my trunk." I whisper in her ear. She looks relieved. The pink powder on her nose and cheeks darkens as she blushes.
"Thanks Haley."
Kat can't swim. Not something she advertises but I found out last summer when I threw her in my pool during a party only to have to fish her out like a drowning puppy.
