It's dark. I'm shivering and tired. My head is hurting from being hungover. It's about an hour before I see headlights in the distance. I squint and make out a large black pickup coming my way. Relief hits me harder than I thought it would. When the car stops and the drivers door flings open, I hop up and I feel tears coming on. I probably look a mess in the spotlight of the headlights but I don't care.
"Kat?" Haley has hopped out of the tall pickup truck and is now hurrying my way.
"What happened? Where's Toni?" I feel her body tense when she grabs me by the shoulders and tilts my head into the light.
"What the fuck! Kat, did she hit you?!" I feel like a little kid tattling on my bully's as I wipe my nose with my sleeve and nod. When I see nothing but utter anger fill Haley's expression I sob harder.
"Please don't be mad!" She looks at me confused.
"Kat, I'm not mad at you. How could I be mad at you?" She says and in a moment I never thought would happened Haley rivers hugs me and kisses my forehead.

Haley's POV:
Mad? At her?
"Let's just get you home. K? We can talk about this later. C'mon." I say and lead her to the passenger side of the car. Half not trusting her to get all the way up alone especially under the influence and sleep deprived. I grip under her arms and boost her up into the car and shut the door behind her.
The car ride is silent and at someone point Kat grabbed my hand. I feel like to sad kids holding hands to make each other feel better. Her tiny hand is soft and warm, mines engulfing hers.
"I'm sorry." She said still looking at out the window.
"Why are you sorry?" I ask my brows scrunched in genuine confusion. She glances at me and than looks out the window again.
"I left with Toni before you saw me cause I knew you'd tell me not to go." She said, shrugging.
"Well, yeah I would. It's not your fault she hit you but don't go home with someone like her and possibly put yourself in those type of situations." I said.
"See. Haley you sound like your my mom or something! This is why I snuck away from you." She said rolling her eyes and I just know she's be stamping her foot like a frickin brat if we'd been standing.

Kat POV:
When we pulled into the driveway Haley parked and turned the engine off. We sat in silence for a sec while I played with my bracelets.
"Your aren't gonna tell the others are you?" I asked timidly. Haley ran her hand through her hair and shook her head.
"Not if you don't want me to." She said with a shrug. I sighed in relief.
"Thank you.."
