~We need that human touch from the one we love almost as we need air to breathe ~

Song of the day : You favorite song right now : )

Calm down, you're not the one getting married.
If only I knew how many times I had repeated that in my head , then maybe , just maybe , I wouldn't be acting like the squirrel I looked like right now. Damn , I hope my curls still look intact .
I wish Eva was here at least she would know what to do.
So my family house wasn't the sh*t , it was pretty normal and my mum was pretty normal too , so , I would say. I didn't want to go in there , something about seeing my entire family after so long didn't sit right within me. Not like I didn't miss them , I've just been avoiding them for a long time and now I feel so guilty for doing that.
I brushed off the feeling and walked towards the door, before that knock that I had been contemplating in my head could happen , the door had already swung open.
Face to face , right in front of me , stood my mum in a light pink dress , her red hair almost looked orange now , and you could tell right away that she was greying and was only covering it up with dye.
"Katy ! " My mum said as she moved towards me with a hug , her vanilla scented perfume that I used to remember her always talk about when I was younger filled my nose. She hadn't changed at all, she was still the same. The gentle smile that played on her lips as she pulled back and looked at me made me feel even more guilty for abandoning her for so long.
"Mum" I took in a long pause as we both stared into each others eyes , I could feel the tears welling up already, just ready to spill " I'm so sorry for leaving you."
My mum smiled and hugged me again , she placed a hand on my back as she said "Well, you're back home now and that's all that matters, come inside , let's get you something to eat , then we'll get you ready for the wedding."
I smiled as she pulled back, and I mouthed a 'thanks'.
So maybe mum hadn't changed, but the interior of the house had changed a lot , the walls were painted white and some beautiful artworks were just about every corner of any wall you laid your eyes on. I wasn't surprised though, my mum loved art and being an artist herself, I could tell some of the pieces she had made herself.
My eyes caught the huge white dove painting that covered almost the entire wall just right above the couch.
"I remember when you used to paint that " I said as I walked towards it , it wasn't just a regular dove , it was crested with diamonds on some parts of the body . The finishing was nice and I know that it was one of my mum's most cherished work.
"It took me a long time to get that done, it means so much to me "
I gave her a small smile.
"By the way , where's Lucy ? " I asked as I grabbed a piece of biscuit from the small plate that my mum had dropped on the table.
