Amy's POV
The sun hit my face, waking me up.
"Ahhh!" I yelled exasperated. Why does the sun have to come up in the morning? I am defiantly not a morning person.
I pulled off the covers, sat up in bed and yawned loudly. Today was Saturday.... and that meant...... SHOPPING!!! Yay!!! What more could there be to look froward to in a day besides having fun with your best friend, and going to Starbucks, oh and of course shopping.
Okay so I was rich. But not just rich, I was filthy rich. Though not many people knew that. There are reasons why,
1. there would be unnecessary thiefs.
2. there may be magazine people haunting you down trying to get information
And 3. people would offer you extremely expensive stuff. I mean why? Even if you're rich it's still fun to try to find good deals.
Anyway, I had to get dressed. I glanced at the clock it read 9:36 a.m. Stephanie would be here in exactly 24 minutes. No joke. She was always on time. :)
That's what I love about her. As for me I'm not quite so precise. So we even each other out.
I walked over to my closet. There were jeans of all colors, shirts, scarfs, hats, sweaters, shoes, and jewelry.
I reached and grabbed a pair of leather pants picked up my vans and grabbed a white shirt. Then I threw a black sweater on and brushed my hair. Afterwards I put some light makeup on.
With all that completed. I went down for breakfast. My breakfast consisted of cereal and cottage cheese. Weird, I know.
I glanced at the clock in my kitchen, it read 9:57 a.m.
Perfect. I headed towards the elevator. As I walked I looked down at my phone to check some messages, I accidentally ran into a very broad warm chest. How I managed to do that, Im not sure.
"Oh, sorry, I'll be more careful next time." Said a husky voice.
I looked up once I stepped back, there in front of me stood a man, not but a few years older I presumed. I then realized what happened.
I recovered quickly. "No, I'm sorry I wasn't watching where I was going. Excuse me."
And with that he smiled and moved aside.
I continued outside the front lobby doors of my apartment complex.
Amy was at the front waiting. Of course. I waved slightly when she caught sight of me.
She waved back. Her top was down on her BMW. I walked to her car and she drove off. During the drive we talked of various things. Anywhere from Stephanie's boyfriend to the zucchini bread I had last night after dinner.
You could say that we're interesting girls.
We pulled up into Macy's parking lot laughing about an old high school memory, it was one day when I had got glasses and one of the boys made fun of me, calling me four eyes. So I punched him, I punched him so hard that he fell back on the ground. Then I was so surprised that I had fainted. The boy, or anyone else, bothered me about my glasses after that. Apparently I had smashed one of his front teeth out. The funny part was that I fainted. :)
We shopped in Macy's for a hour. I found the perfect light emerald green dress to match my eyes and Stephanie found a blue one to match her eyes.
It was 12:57.
"Hey Steph, can we stop for lunch?"
"Don't call me that. What do you think about Loren's Café, it's pretty close?"
I rolled my eyes at her first comment. I really liked calling her Steph.
"Sounds good, I'm so hungry I could eat anything."
10 minutes later she pulled up into Loren's Café. We got out of the car and made our way inside.
After ordering we took a seat next to the window in the corner.
Our food arrived. We started to dig in when I looked behind Stephanie. There was a man, and he looked oddly familiar.
No!?!? Was it!? Could it be!?
"Stephanie, " I whispered, "Is that... Max?"
I pointed to a man around our age laughing with another man sitting across the Café.Stephanie looked at me quizzically and then turned around. When she looked back at me her eyes were widened in shock.
She nodded her head. Max was unforgettable. Back in 8th grade Max was the sweetest boy in the whole school. He wasn't popular or very handsome. But his kind heart made a lot of girls like him.
Over the last years of high school we became close. But his father lost his Jo and they had to move to Canada. I hadn't kept up because he left so quickly.
I swallowed hard. His face shape and features had changed into a handsome young man but, he was still easily recognized.
I pulled my hand up and felt my face. Did I put on enough make up? What about my clothes? Wait, why was I so conscience?
I ignored my gut. I stood up and walked calmly over to him. So as not to embarrass myself I decided to ask if his name was Max Landon.
I approached their table. Their conversation ceased. I looked at Max.
"Excuse me, but is you name Max Landon, by chance?"
He looked confused. Then realization and shock covered his face. He stood up.
Oh no! What is he doing?
"Amy?!"
I nodded slightly.
Then in one motion he pulled me into a rib crushing hug. He pulled away and held me at arms length.
"Look at you! How you've grown into a beautiful young lady." He smiled broadly.
Yep. This was defiantly Max. He was always complementing in a brotherly sort of way
towards his close friends. But this sort of felt different."Max." The other man said gently. With a questionable look on his face.
He too was handsome. Even maybe more so than Max. His hair was disheveled in a causal manner. He was slightly coccassion .
"Oh. Yeah, sorry. Brandon, this is an old friend of mine back when I was in high school.... May I present to you......." he paused and waved his hands dramatically towards me like I was some special art, or model. "Miss Amy Shafer!"
"Quit Max your making a scene." I said embarrassed as I lightly slapped him on the shoulder. "And I'm not THAT old." I winked at him.
"Haha, sure you're not...." He rubbed my head playfully.
"Still the same old Max, I see."
"Could say the same about you, personality wise, but looks, whew! When did you become so drop down gorgeous in casual clothes?" he smirked. As he faked half swooning.
By now Stephanie was at my side. Max introduced Brandon. I saw her blush as they shook hands.
The rest of the hour we stayed at the Café. Then Brandon had to leave. After that we agreed t meet up again soon and exchanged numbers.
Stephanie dropped me off at my apartment complex and I head straight for my room.
