poem: Silence

Like a single word,
That could make a heart open.
My silence isnt any words,
But my mind can outsmart.

Silence is the equivalence to weak,
They say.
Confidence and outgoing equals strong,
They say.

"You dont talk much, do you",
They ask.  I sit in silence,
To give them a simple task.

I sit and blink,
I dream and cry.
As my heart sinks,
I let out a small cry.

Never too loud,
Would not want to be heard.
Never too soft,
Would not want to be the quiet girl.

Convinced parents think they know,
But rather oblivious.
Would not want to reap and sow,
So I suffer through utter oblivion.

I am a trapped little girl,
In a tower that is far too high for me to be saved.
After all, who am I to blame?
We are all little angles who beg each other to "step out of your comfort zone."

Who ever got anywhere with that famous line?

Literally EVERYONE except the silent girl.

Me.

Yours truly,
