(Reader's Pov)
"1 and 2 and 3 and 4...." I say to my students while counting out the beat slowly showing them the moves as they copied my movements from the mirror.
I was teaching them a new routine. I had to keep myself distracted while I wait for a phone call or something from the hotel that visited a few days ago.
"Ms. (L/N), can we take a break?" One of my students ask me. I look at her through the mirror I can tell that all of them were exhausted. I guess I've been pushing them to hard.
"Alright,"I nod,"A break won't hurt." I smile towards them. I see them sigh in relief as they all went to their bags or to sit down against the wall. I walk over to Lily and pick up my water bottle and took a sip.
"Haven't gotten a call yet?" She asks me.
"Yeah." I say and look down a bit.
"I've looked up that hotel on Google and read some articles. I don't think we should perform there if they call." My friend tells me.
"Why not? It's a perfect place. It's just as old as the studio." I look at her.
"I just don't think it's safe for the kids." She adds in.
"Don't worry Lily. I got a plan. I'll only have our advance class perform. Our advance class is only 18 and older. We'll be fine. Plus I got a theme already planned for them."
"A theme?" She arches a brow at me,"Listen (Y/N), I know you're desperate to try and keep the studio going. It's your family's and I understand that. But don't you think it's time for-"
"Don't say it Lily." I interrupt her,"I know what you're going to say and I'm not going to sell."
"I'm sorry (Y/N), but it's the truth." She tells me.
I sigh and then went over to my bag and get my phone out of a pocket. I then noticed that I missed a call. It was an unknown number and that number left a message also.
"Hey Lily, I'm going to step out for a bit." I tell her. I then step out of the room and into the hall. I hold my phone up to my ear and began to listen to the message.
"Hello Ms. (L/N), this Liz Taylor from Hotel Cortez. Please call this number back when you have the time."
After I heard the message and began pacing as I dialed the number and listened to the ringing. I was beginning to get nervous.
"Hello this the Hotel Cortez." I heard someone say and it was the same person who left the message.
"Hi this (Y/N) (L/N). I see that you tried  calling me before but I was in the middle of a class. Is this Liz Taylor?" I then ask.
"Yes this is Liz." She responds,"And the owner of the hotel would like to meet with you here at the hotel to talk with you."
  "Really?" I ask shocked.
"Yes really. Be at the hotel tomorrow night 6pm sharp and wear something really nice."She adds in.
"Ok. Thank you so much Ms. Taylor. " I say.
"Oh Honey, please just Liz, and don't thank me. Thank the owner. He's the one who wants to see you." I hear her chuckle a but.
  "Oh...ok."
"Alright. See you tomorrow night. Remember dress nice." I then hear the phone hang up on the other end. I remove my phone from ear and I couldn't help but smile.
"Yes!" I jump for joy. I couldn't believe that the owner of the hotel actually wants to see me and talk.
"Hey what's got you so excited?" Erik was walking down the hall when I saw him. I quickly run over to him and hug him.
"That hotel I told you about. They called me and the owner wants to speak with me tomorrow night." I tell him.
"Wait the Hotel Cortez?" He asks as his hands were on my shoulders.
  "Yeah."
"Are you sure about this?" He then asks me. I then realized he had the same suspicions that Lily does.
"Not you too Erik. Look this could be good venue to perform in. Plus if we do go there I'll only allow the advance class to perform." I tell him.
For a moment, I thought he was going to tell me that this was a bad idea, but then I saw him smile.
"Alright. If you really think that this would a good place for us then I'm with you." He says. I couldn't help but smile and gave him another hug.
"But I think we still might need to be careful." He then adds in.
"Don't worry Erik. I'm going to be speaking with the owner tomorrow night and if I decide that this place isn't suited for us then I'll change my mind about it."

(3rd person POV)
"So is she coming tomorrow night?" James asks Liz who sat behind the check in counter of the hotel.
"Yes she is." She answers and then looks towards the serial killer,"You know you never really explained why you really want her to comeback to the hotel."
"I overheard what she was saying the other day and she's right. A good performance is what this hotel needs and it'll be good business." James answers with a grin.
"Are you sure about that?" Liz then pulls out a cigarette and lit it,"To me it seems that you just want to see her for more than just business reasons." She says smirking a bit.
"Of course it's just business reasons." James straightened his coat and then began walking towards the elevator.
"And what will the Countess think?" Liz spoke out.
James stopped and turned to look at the bald woman.
"She can mind her own business." He answers and then continues to walk into the elevator.
Once the doors closed behind him he took out the picture that the young woman had dropped from his pocket. After so many years of being dead, he had almost forgotten about Rosie.
His Rosie, the one girl that actually made him feel sane. Everytime she would walk in the room she would always bring a smile to his face. Not a twisted, sadistic smile that he would give to his victims, but a true smile of how happy he was when he was with her.
His mind then began to think back to the one day he stepped off the train when he first came to California and saw her on the platform waiting for him.

                       1920

James stepped onto the platform and off the train with his luggage in hand. He looked around the station trying to find the familiar face of his childhood friend.
"James!" A femine voice called out his name. He turned and saw a young woman with a bright smile on her face walking towards him He noticed the familiar (e/c) of her bright eyes. He couldn't help but smile as he quickly walked over to meet her.
He dropped his suitcase as she was in arms reach and hugged her tightly.
"Rosie!" He spun her around in which made her laugh. Oh her laugh was like music to his ears.
"James it's so good to see you." She hugs him back. She then steps back and looks up at him.
"I'm so glad that you were to come live down here." She adds in.
"I'm very glad aswell Rosie. I have missed you very much." He tells her.
"I've missed you too James." Her cheeks turned a little pink. It has been years since she last saw her childhood friend and to see him now as an adult was much different. She saw how much he changed from the young boy she met on the fields to the man that stood in front of her. From the letters that he sent to her, he had become a very good architect in their hometown and she was very proud of him.
"Come on, let's head to my place and get you settled in." Rosie takes his hand in hers and began walking with him towards a taxi.

                  Present Time

James heard the opening of the elevator doors and then stepped out and headed down the hall towards his room. He needed get himself prepared for tomorrow night and hopefully the woman that lives on the top floor won't suspect a thing.
