Frank found himself on the ground, the snow falling around him. Frank’s eyes opened slightly. The snow was piling up around him as it made a nice body shape on the ground.
Frank got up, groaning as his back began to pop and became sore. He looked around, confused as he didn’t see Quentin nor the killer shack around. He believed that Quentin got out through the hatch and that’s why he was back here.
He felt his heart pound in his throat as the seed of despair began to spout, the dread began to drag down his stomach as the anxiety rose in his throat that was impossible to swallow. He closed his eyes, knowing the only way to get rid of this feeling. With that thought, he walked in, taking his mask off.

“Julie?” Frank called out her name, looking around to only see her on the couch. She instantly jolted up and smiled awkwardly. “Oh uh...Frank. Hey, I’ll leave you alone..” She told him, about to walk past him to the stairs when he gently grabbed her wrist.
“No, please stay..” Frank told her softly, his eyes shaking as he motioned for her to sit back down, his eyes were a pool of unspoken guilt. This moment gave him extreme deja vu, this being the same moment when he told Julie that their highschool ‘romance’ was a lie. That it was pretended, just make-believe.
Frank remembered her smile and, at first, he thought she didn’t understand. Though when those tears began to roll down her face, the small hiccups that escaped through her mouth made his heart crack and explode with what he had put her through.
He had held her that day, being the closest they’ve ever gotten when touching each other. This time, he didn’t feel awkward or uncomfortable around a girl. Around her. He thought she had understood but it didn’t seem like it.
“Frank? Are you just going to stare at me?” Julie asked. Frank blinked before shaking his head quickly. “Wha-? No! Nonono, not at all. I uh…” Frank slowly sat down in front of her as he took a deep breath.
“Julie, there’s something I need to talk to you about that has been on my mind and I-”, “You do?? Oh my god can we say it together??”
“Julie, please, this isn’t what you th-”
“Oh c’mon! I bet I know what it is”
“Julie, I told you-”
“I like you… a lot Frank.” She whispered, her hand gently placed on top of his. Her fingers gently guided over his knuckles, as she seemed to be at peace. “Frank..when we are together, I feel like I can do anything. I feel like I finally matter and you give me a platform that I was never given,” She began to intertwine their fingers together as she looked up. Her eyes began to shake as tears welled up and threatened to spill down her soft cheeks, “Just please..give me a chance..I-I can prove to you that I mean well, that I will do anything for you.”
Frank frowned, his eyes closed as he couldn’t believe the mess he was in. He didn’t want to reject her and he didn’t want to hurt her further than he already has. He left out a sigh, opening his eyes, finding hers to be closer.
Frank pulled his hand away from hers to gently wipe away her tears with his thumb. She gently laid her head against his hand, which only made his heartthrob and threaten to break even more.
“Jules… I don’t want to hurt you. I want to be there for you. You do amazingly already, but I can’t... “ He told her, his hand gently pulled away. Julie felt her head spin but kept looking at him, wondering what she did wrong.
“Jules, I...I think of you as my little sister. Someone I need to protect, someone that I can go to for advice. You are my family and I’d be damned to let this destroy the ‘Legion’. Besides I…” Frank felt his face burn as the pink dusting began to appear on his face, causing Julie to tilt her head slightly, “Besides?” She questioned.
Frank took in a deep breath, knowing that if he was fully honest with her, this may all finally be clear. Though, the words were stuck in his throat that seemed to suffocate his attempts. “You uh… know why I attacked that referee? “ He asked in a slow, awkward manner. His hands finding themselves in his armpits, his arms crisscrossing over his body.
“He said something about you being a faggot but everyone said that…” Her eyes widened, giving him a look. Which did not help his crippling anxiety. It was silent, deathly silent, and Frank was begging her to say something.
“So...you’re gay?” Julie asked, as soon as those words left her mouth, Frank became a relieved mess. “Yeah...gay.. I’m very gay. Maybe gayer than Dwight. Hahaha, funny joke right there. Uggh…” Frank groaned, holding his head in his hands.
Why the hell was he so awkward about this?? He felt like there was a cloud over his head, a very dark and rainy cloud that made him feel shameful by what he admitted to. That he could’ve even blamed his friend for the sudden surges of emotions he got and that festered over time.
A gentle hand that was delicately placed on his shoulder was of Julies. Her smile made the storm clouds disappear, making the shame begin to dwindle as she hugged him tightly. “You should’ve told me, dummy.”
Frank let out a breath of relief, his eyes burned as he struggled not to cry. “I-I was afraid… Even I didn’t know what my feelings were and I just wanted to fit in I just-”, “Shut up dummy, you’re Frank Morrison. You’re the absolute coolest, if I were you, I’d never try to fit in. You were born to stand out, to give others a chance, and to support them by any means necessary.”
Frank gently held her, holding her close. His arms wrapped around her back as his head gently rests on her shoulder. “Thank you… for everything.”

Julie's smile slowly fell, tears silently streamed down her cheeks as she felt like she just lost everything. She couldn’t believe that the person she loved all this time liked guys. Maybe….maybe she could change, get his attention...No… Susie always told her to love herself, no matter what happened but….
what was the point in loving herself when the person she loved didn’t?
