Motivation for the day

Faith

I greet you all in the most wonderful and precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!

Before we get started I would like to tell you that one of my very first sermons was when I was 14 years old, and this here was my very first topic....Faith.

Well, what about faith? Yeah, we know about how it's one of the fruits of the spirit and how it's such a magical spirit to have within us but it's never easy.

You see it's so easy to have faith in God when it's the little things. But let me tell you something believers that when your back is against the wall and there is a knife against your throat..some of you may take that literally or figuratively...I'm not sure but all I can say is that, that's when it becomes difficult.

We know how great our God is for there is no such word as can't in his vocabulary. But faith comes by believing not seeing....ever heard that saying? Yeah me too! But I never really knew the meaning of that until I realised that there is no way all of us possibly saw him in the physical but we feel him for his holy spirit dwells with in us and that is enough to know that God has your back..so I have just one question for you.

Why are you tripping?

You know that his got your back, you know that his never failed you but we as imperfect human beings still lack and still fall flat on our faces because we think we can do it all...funny right? The same God that can tell you how many breaths it took each an every one of you to take before you could open your eyes this morning is the God that you doubt.

Yes, I speak for myself aswell...guilty has charged..so don't think that you are alone in this battle.

Matthew 17 :20  "you don't have enough faith", Jesus told them. " I tell you the truth, if you have faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain. 'Move from here to there', and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.

Wow! How I love that scripture. It reminds me that my faith in God is probably nothing compared to most people but I tell you this that just a little bit of him and you're able to make or break the world.

I have a memory reminder for you..I know it's pretty random but, can you remember the last time you went zip lining?

Maybe some of you haven't but, that's okay! I got you. You see when you go on a zip line ride there is something that's called a harness that attaches you to the zip line and then you have to wear gloves that helps you hold on to the zip line and then zzzwwwwiiiinnnggg of you go down the line some of us will be screaming words that don't even make sense and some will be screaming words...well let's just say our religious beliefs prevent us from going any further...

But the point is that, that harness that I mentioned is actually God in your circumstances and that zip line is your problem. So no matter what happens during that storm you call a problem, your father, that is your harness is holding onto you tightly and if you ever let go there is no way in the universe that he will let you go and even when that zip line comes to an end he will always be there at the end to hold you steady when your legs feel like jelly.

So believers thats the God we serve!

Let's pray before we depart:

Heavenly Father we come before you through your son Jesus christ. We just want to thank you for giving us this opportunity to share your word and we pray that it's reached the soul of one of your beloved. We thank you Oh God for never failing us even when we lack faith in you sometimes. We won't waste this opportunity to say that we love you Oh Lord.  Please forgive us for the sins that we have committed and may your mercy and love follow us all the days of our lives
