Hours passed and I wasn't getting a led on any of this. I sighed loudly in frustration and looked back at my papers. This doesn't make any sense! My head was beginning to hurt. I looked out the window of the library and tried to focus on the peace of nature. I noticed a tree with the leaves being blown off but I focused on one. I watched the yellow leaf float to the ground and land on a shadow. But it wasn't the tree's shadow! It was triangular shape and it floated! What?! I rubbed my eyes and pressed my hands and face against the window. The shadow was in fact still there. The thing seemed to spell out something, as if it knew I was watching. I saw it. The wisp of a hand drew out on the tree something I couldn't quite see. Excited, I ran outside and over to the tree. It had a star on it. And that's when heard it. A voice, small and raspy, whisper in my ear. "Eight letters,"it said. "Wh-what?",I asked aloud, very confused. I spun around, startled, but nothing was there. I turned my head in all different directions but there was no one around. I shivered at my new and paranormal experience, and then went, rather quickly, back inside the library. I sat down back in my spot and scanned my papers again, this time, involving the concept of the 'Eight Letters'. A few more minutes of working and I actually got a lead! "It all makes sense now!",I exclaimed. I laughed and jumped up joyously until someone shushed me and I realized that everyone in the area is looking at me. My face turned a bright red and, rather embarrassed, I walk away from my spot and began looking for a book with all the eight letter words in it. I finally got to one shelf and I find the book. I grabbed it and pulled it out but it wouldn't budge. I tugged a little hard but nothing changed. Then I felt the tug of the book on the other side. I let it go and it went flying out the other end and a yelp of surprise was sounded. I ran over to the other side to see a boy, about my age I'm guessing, on the floor and rubbing his head. "Ow",he said quietly. "Oh wow. I'm so sorry! Are you ok?",I asked lowering myself to his level. "Ya I'm fine",he answered. "And it's ok. You were just grabbing the same book as I was.,"he reassured. "Well, that's good,"I answered. I stood up and offered my hand. He took it and hoisted himself up. Looking down he brushed himself off and then lifted his head to greet me face to face. I only took a moment to study him. He had soft brown eyes and a pink nose. He had brown shaggy hair and wore a navy vest over a reddish-orange shirt. He wore dark greenish-cargo long shorts with black shoes and high socks. His hat was blue and white with a pine tree outline in blue in the middle. "Hi",he greeted. "I'm Dipper Pines. Nice to meet you...",he introduced himself then paused for me to say my name. "Oh, right!",I said. "My name is (y/n). (Y/n)(y/l/n).",I answered him. I stuck out my hand as to shake hands and he accepted. "You know what Dipper, if you need to use the book then I can wait. It's cool.",I offered. "Oh, really? Uh, thanks. Um, I think I saw a few dictionaries over there,"he gestured to another part of the library. "Ok. Thank you.,"I said. "Oh, and nice meeting you," I happily claimed. "Nice meeting you, too.,"he responded. We split paths and I began walking back to my spot when I heard him say something. "Ok, Mabel. I type you read. The sooner we get this done the sooner we will be able to solve the mysteries of Gravity Falls,"he said. I stopped in my tracks. The sooner we will be able to solve the mysteries of Gravity Falls. I was searching the same thing! I had to know for sure if that's what he said. I spun around and poked my head around the edge of a bookshelf, in utter curiosity. "What did you just say?,"I asked. He turned towards me, looking rather surprised, and then answered my question. "The sooner we get this done the sooner we will be able to solve the mysteries of Gravity Falls,"he repeated. My mouth hung open in shock. "What?,"he asked confused. "I-I'm studying the same thing,"I answered. His eyes widened. "What?,"he asked. "I'm studying the same thing,"I answered a little louder. I walked over to him and we both really wanted to compare notes. He let out a small laugh of surprise and brought his hand to his head. "All this time, I thought I was the only one,"he claimed. "This is great! That means we can compare notes and work together on this,"he exclaimed. "Shhh!",someone shushed from somewhere in the library. we obliged and lowered our voices containing our excitement. "That sounds Awsome!", I whisper yelled. "I'll go get my notes", I said dashing back to my corner, grabbing everything I brought, and dashed back to Dipper. "Woah... that's a lot of papers",he said, pointing to my monstrous stack of books and papers. I laughed. "Ya, I know", I answered. Walking over to the desk with a rather strange looking laptop, I seat down all my stuff and began to pull out something's that would be good to point out. "Oh, uh, hey (y/n). since you're here for the summer, like us, who are with?",Dipper asked. "Oh, ya. I'm staying with my uncle and cousins. they're lumberjacks.",I answered. Dippers attention was caught when I said 'lumberjacks'. "So, you'd your uncle and cousins happen to have red hair?"
"Ya..."
"Plaid shirts?"
"Affirmative"
"Who are your cousins exactly?",he finally asked. "Well, I have four in total and three are boys and the oldest is a girl, Wendy",I answered. He Froze at the name of Wendy. "Uh, Wendy?",he asked, now nervous. "Yup",I answered. "Do you know her?",I asked him. It took a moment or two for him to answer me. "Uh, ya. S-she works at the Mystery Shack",he stuttered. "Mystery Shack?",I questioned. "Ya, Mabel and I are working/staying there this summer with our Grunkle Stan",he answered me. "Grunkle?",I asked. "Ya. He's our Great Uncle, so we call him Grunkle Stan",he explained to me. "Oh, cause it's great uncle, and the grunkle and ya... clever",I said. He laughed. "So, who's Mabel?", I asked. "Oh, she's my sister. Mabel Pines.",he pointed in the direction of the child's area. "Ya, she's the one flirting with puppet boy." I laughed at his rather unhappy expression but stopped when I realized that Gabe was looking in my direction. He winked and my face turned bright red and I backed up further behind the bookcase and out of his line of view. Yeesh...Creepy much? I thought. I shook my head and refocused on the situation at hand. "Ok",I addressed Dipper. "Let's get started."
