Sock Opera (part 1)

"Ow!",I yelped as the door to the library shut in my face. Knocked to the ground, I rubbed my head and glared at the door. 'Jerk.' I thought. My papers flew everywhere as the wind picked up. Sighing in defeat, I stood up and began to gather my convict papers. "Great",I muttered to myself. Once I got my papers and books picked up, I scanned and counted to make sure I had them all. One missing. I thought to myself. "Hmmm",I hummed thoughtfully. "Um, excuse me?",a voice said behind me. I spin around to find myself looking into the face of a blonde, pony-tailed, puppet boy. He was very attractive but just because you think someones cute doesn't mean you like them. He wore all black and had two puppets on his hands. "Is this yours?",he asked, holding up my missing piece of paper in his bee puppets mouth. "Uh, ya. Thanks", I responded, not sure of how to act in this situation with puppet boy here. I took the piece of paper and slid it in my stack. "By the way, I'm Gabe Benson. What's your name?", he asked. "Uh, (y/n). (Y/n)(y/l/n).",I answered. "Cool! I like that name! So, we're you going into the library?",he asked. "Yes actually",I responded. "oh, cool! Me too! I'm actually performing here so if you'd like to come see me then I'll be at the kids section. The handsome one behind the curtain.",he winked. I gulped and then laughed nervously. "Ah, well, um", I stuttered looking for an excuse. "Oh! And would ya look at the time!",I exclaimed while looking down at my bare wrist. "I've got lots of work to do, so I, uh, better get going",it was the best excuse I could think of but it least it wasn't a lie. I really did have lots of work to do. I went to open the door to the library but he beat me to it. "Please! Allow me", he said gesturing for me to walk in. I give him a nervous smile and clutched my books closer to my chest. I rushed in and made my way to a table as far away from the kids section as possible. I looked around my area and found myself a cozy spot in the corner of the area, took out my papers, and began my research.
