we go back into the little room and we cuddle. i pull out my phone and we watch some netflix.

after a while we leave and head back to my house. we lay on my bed and fall asleep.

the next day i wake up and alejandro goes home while i go to the diner to do my shift.

after work, i go to the beach. not the main beach, and not me and ale's place, but the place where me and my friends always hung out...before we all fell apart.

i go over to the shore and stand with my feet in the water. i start crying just thinking about my friends.

i turn around to go sit on a big rock that's behind me, when i see desi sitting there.

me : oh.

i start to walk away when she stops me.

desi : wait...

i turn around.

desi : i'm so fucking sorry, hai. like seriously. like really fucking sorry.

i don't say anything and i just stand there.

desi : i was being a bitch and you know how petty my ass can get. i don't know why i said the things i did. it's just, it's always been you and me, and i really don't want it to turn into you and ale, or even you and ale and me. i was being selfish and i just wanted you all to myself. i'm sorry.
me : i forgive you. and i'm sorry i didn't tell you, des. we just kinda wanted to wait because we weren't even official yet. we just didn't see the urgency in it, you know?
desi : yeah. you wanna start over?
me : definitely.
desi : i'm desiree montoya.
me : hailey orona. you wanna be my bestie?
desi : definitely.

she lays her head on my shoulder and i put my head on hers. i grab her hand and we just sit there, watching the sun set.

after a while, i let her come over to my house and we watch sad movies and cry together.

i finally have my best friend back!
