we all go downstairs and sit on the couch. we wait forever for my parents to get home because they were at a friends house.

we wait down there for probably 30 minutes. i'm shaking the whole time, very very nervous.

they finally walk through the door.

mom : hola mija. and friends.
me : hola. mama, papa, come sit.
mom : sí, un momento. (yes, one moment)

once they finally come sit down, ale scoots over to where he's pretty much squished up against me, and i grab his hand and pull his arm over in my lap and i hold his hand with both my hands.

me : so mama and papa, i have very big news.
dad : good or bad?
me : you can pick.
mom : oh no...
me : what?
mom : when you say you can pick, it's never good news.
me : just please let me tell you.
mom : okay, go.
me : um...i'm uh...i'm pregnant.

we sit there in silence for a second until both my parents look at each other and burst out laughing.

me : mama, papa, this isn't funny.
dad : very nice prank, hailey. you got us there for a minute.
me : ahah. yeah..a prank. definitely a prank...yay!
mom : muy bien, mija. (very good, daughter)

i force a smile onto my face and all my friends put their hands on my arms and shoulders and stuff.

my parents start to walk away.

me : wait...

they turn around and look at me. ugh it's so intense.

me : it's not a prank, guys.
mom: what?
dad : ¿estas bromeando? (you're joking?)
me : no, papa. i'm being serious.
mom : i can't believe you, mija. i guess it was from alejandro?
me : sí mama.
mom : ugh. you're both a disgrace to this family! you're just teenagers.
dad : i'm very angry and disappointed, hailey.
mom : either abort the baby, or-
me : i'm not having an abortion, ma.
mom : then you and you're little friends are no longer aloud under this roof.

my mom smacks me on the head and with that, they walk away to their room.

i start breaking down in tears.

ale carries me bridal style to my room and lays me on my bed. while they pack up my stuff, i cry myself to sleep.

when i wake up, it's around 3 in the morning and my friends just got done packing my stuff.

me : you didn't have to do that, guys.
mattia : yes we did.
kairi : it's the least we could do for you
robert : yeah. with this whole situation and everything.
alvaro : were just trying to help you as much as we can.
desi : you mean too much to us all.
ale : and any time you need help with anything, we will always be here. which is why my mom and dad are letting you live with me.
me : really?
ale : yes!
me : oh, baby! thank you!
ale : your welcome, mi amor!

i give them all a hug and i kiss ale. then we get everything into a bunch of our cars and we drive to ale's.

mrs rosario : i'm so sorry, hailey.
me : it's okay. i'm glad y'all are here to help!

we go to ale's room and unpack my things.
