Ali was running around the cabin, trying to find her bow. Ryth and Tae were laughing at her, since she somehow didn't seem to see it laying halfway hidden underneath the closet.
"Guys come on, where did you put it!", the girl whined annoyed.
"You don't need the damn bow to be pretty", Tae replied teasingly.
As Ali shot them a dark look, they bit down on their lip, causing Alistor to turn bright red. Tae stepped closer to their girlfriend and put their hands on her shoulders.
"Did I make you nervous?", they continued to tease, locking eyes with Ali and leaning in.
Suddenly the two lost balance, Ryth had pushed Tae. "Get a room you two", he complained.
Tae was back on their feet again quickly and pulled Ali up too, who now said:" I'll go without the bow, if you stop teasing me!"
Seconds later, Alistor held her light green bow in hands. Tae had picked it up and handed it to her quickly.
"Thank you, boo", she said with a smile, as she put the accessorise into her hair.
"Guys, I really don't know about this!", Taime announced anxiously, as he came back into the cabin.
"It's Halloween!", Ryth and Ali yelled back at the same time.
"No one will notice", Tae insured," they'll think we're making a group costume."
"It's still risky", Taime complained, but he smiled excitedly.
"Who cares, we were here for over seventy years", Ali shot back.
Tae took her hand and said:" Come on, I think we're ready."
As the people walked into the city, Ali got lost in her thoughts.
All four of them still appeared to be sixteen years old, and they also kept acting like it. They weren't pretending to stay young, their mindset didn't change. The idea to go out at Halloween was Ryth's, to which Taime and Ali picked out an outfit for everyone.
Ryth and Taime both wore black sneakers, white dress pants and light green button-up shirts. Tae was forced to wear their green combat boots, a light blue pair of jeans and a white T-Shirt with a green jacket over it. Ali was wearing the same jacket, but in a female cut, a white blouse and a green skirt. The color of the bow matched the color of the soles of her mainly white shoes.
They would have looked like a normal group of teenage friends, that were going trick-or-treating, if it wasn't for all four of them having the same haircolor and haircut, the color of their skin not sticking out from each other and their unusual eyes.
Before Ali even knew they started walking, the teens were in the middle of the city. As they passed the police station, a shiver ran down Ali's spine and she grabbed Tae's hand tighter.
"Where do we start?", Taime asked, curious.
Ryth answered:" I'd have said around the school, there's a lot of nice people there. Is everyone ok with that?"
"Yeah sure", Tae replied. Ali and Taime just nodded, and so the group walked over.
As they knocked at different doors, the mood slowly brightened up, all of the friends felt easier, with strangers praising their 'creative costumes'. They met a lot of other teenagers, kids and even some adults.
Everything seemed to be fun and games, but as Tae was chasing Ali down the street, who was laughing because she just stole a piece of candy from them, the girl ran into someone else. She wasn't prepared for that, and as she stumbled back, she posed her body to defend herself easily.
The person she just ran into seemed confused, he looked her up and down for a while. As Tae caught up with Ali, the stranger asked:" Don't I know you?"
"Probably not", Alistor replied quietly, as Tae carefully took her hand.
"I'm sure I do", the boy continued," you seem oddly familiar."
Before Ali could answer, Tae jumped in, explaining:" Well, we are dressed up as the cryptids."
The boy now looked at them too, and as their eyes met, he jerked back.
"Probably", he muttered quickly and turned to leave.
As he was out of earshot, Tae asked:" Are you alright?" Ali nodded in reply, and as she did so, Tae grabbed her by her hips and lifted her up a bit. "Amazing, now give me back my candy", they laughed, and Ali joined them.
"Let me down!", the girl yelled, still laughing.
Tae did as told and put her to her feet again. Then they leaned in and whispered:" My Candy please."
Ali gave them a short kiss, then took a quick step back. "I'm candy", she replied, then turned around and ran back up the street.
"Taime help me!", she squealed as she was close to the others again, hiding behind the boy.
"What did you do now?", Ryth laughed as Tae came closer too.
"She kissed me and said that she's my candy. And I'd really love to have my candy back", Tae explained with a smile on their lips.
Taime laughed and pulled Ali in front of him. "Well, if that's the case, I can't do anything about it", he exclaimed with a serious voice.
"I am not sharing my candy with you", Alistor promised as Taime pushed her into Tae's arms.
"I'm also not sharing my candy", Tae whispered into their girlfriends ear and then kissed her on the neck.
Ali turned red again, then Tae let go of her again.
"You're mean", she complained," First you tease me and then you just stop!"
"That is my job", her partner laughed and took her by the hand.
"Any more houses, or are you guys tired?", Ali asked.
"I wanna go to sleep", Taime replied, as he looked at the other two. He seemed as if he'd fall asleep any second, he couldn't even stand straight anymore.
Ryth leaned down a bit and said:" I'll take you piggyback, and we'll all go home."
Tae and Ali nodded in agreement, and Taime jumped onto Ryth's back. They started to walk back towards the forest, not even a minute later Tai was asleep. The other three friends were talking quietly.
Ryth asked about the boy Ali collided with.
"Well, except that he's almost as tall as us and has black hair, I don't know anything", Tae sighed as they started to kick a stone along.
Their girlfriend nodded in agreement and continued:" He also had kinda dark eyes. Either green or brown. He asked if we knew each other."
"That's weird", Ryth thought aloud," normally people don't even notice you."
"I kinda ran directly into him", Ali laughed in reply.
"Probably nothing anyways", Tae inserted their opinion.
The teens entered the woods again, and just a few minutes later were back at their cabin. Ryth nearly dropped Taime, as the friends saw what had happened there.
