"Anna? "
I turned around and almost stopped breathing when I saw the person who had called my name.
"Alex? "
I looked at the boy standing in my front. Yes, the boy indeed was Alex. But what was he doing here?
Back in Florida, Alex was one of my closest friends. Though I had lived in Florida for just one year, I had experienced some of my best days there, not to mention endless drama, in high school for just one year.
Every thing had gone smoothly that year until my unfortunate life had taken an unfortunate turn. I had made just one mistake. I had fallen for the only guy I should have never fallen for!
Pretty cliché right? Not. Probably then, I would have been in Florida, living a happily ever after life with my prince charming! But here I was, heartbroken, completely in another town.
"What are you doing here?" Alex asked me, breaking me from my chain of thoughts.
Oh nothing! Just sight-seeing. I mean c'mon who asks that? I'm standing in my school, so what do you think I'm doing. But what are you doing here?
"I could ask the same for you", I replied to him rather bluntly.
"Well I'm a new student here".
What?!
I stared at him with a shocked expression. I was about to start laughing thinking it to be some kind of a joke when I notice a white sheet of paper in his hand. His schedule.
"Dude, are you done? Let's go, c'mon", James interrupted us.
James Morrison was one of the most popular boy of our school. His parents were very rich and he was a spoilt brat! He was also the player of the school. Every week he was seen with a different girl. Frankly he was the leader of the wannabes of the school.
James hosted one of the best parties in our school. A large amount of booze, snacks and loud music was enough to keep his party wild till 3 in the morning.
Earlier when I had joined the school, James had invited me himself to one of his party. At that time I had no idea that he was a man whore and I was very excited to attend his party. But later I found out that he was actually trying to get into my pants.
I had left the party after that. When Katie came to know about it she humiliated James in front of the whole school in the cafeteria. Due to this, many girls had distanced themselves from him.
When James noticed me he scowled at me. I glared back at him.
"What are you doing here now? Well let me guess, you are trying to get into his pants right?" James asked.
"No, what are you talking about ?" Alex asked James looking confused.
"Yes my friend, I warn you against her. She's a slut and -"
"You are mistaken James. If you think she's a slut then I don't know what you're talking about. She was my friend and I know her very well". Alex stated firmly.
The bell rang.
"Listen Alex, since your new here, I would like to suggest you to stay away from this man whore ". I told Alex, then turned around and walked away.
"Bitch", I heard James mutter behind me but I couldn't care less.

ALEX'S POV
I stood there silently as I saw her walk away. She was still the same except a little change in her personality. It was almost impossible to miss the fierceness in her voice when she addressed James.
Even though she hadn't seen me when she had walked out of the office giggling with her friend, I had noticed her right away. I had seen the surprised look on her face when she had seen me. It had been so long since I last saw her that I had almost forgotten how she looked. Wait scratch that. It was a blatant lie. I would never be able to forget her....
"You were friends. What do you mean by this? And how do you even know her?" James asked me.
"Shouldn't we first head to class? I really don't want to be late on my first day". I said to James noticing the almost empty hallway now.
James nodded and we headed towards our classes.
