"HEY ERIN," Rudy greeted while walking into their stateroom.

"You're back soon," Erin responded, looking over and pausing the movie on the television.

Rudy walked over to the dresser and got out an outfit to sleep in, "Eh, I was kind of tired and truth or dare got pretty boring after you left."

"Aw, well, I'm flattered," Erin said while Rudy went into the bathroom to change and get ready for bed.

A few minutes later, Rudy walked out of the bathroom and asked, "What are you doing?"

"Watching WALL-E," Erin continued, "Want to watch it with me? I just started it a few minutes ago." Erin scooted over, making room on the bed for Rudy to sit with her.

"Yeah, sure, I'll watch some of it." Rudy said, sitting down on the bed.

"I haven't watched this movie in ages," Erin said as she started the movie.

Rudy leaned back onto a pillow, "I honestly think the last time I watched this movie was with you when we were kids."

"Aw, I love when history repeats itself," Erin said adoringly.

The two sat in silence as the movie began. Rudy had always been fascinated with film. He always dreamed of acting or directing, but he knew his parents would never approve. He understood that life in the arts is never an easy life, but a life he still yearned for it nevertheless.

Erin watched Rudy as he took in every detail from the movie. The colors, the music, the meaning behind every movement and line. Rudy was infatuated with the film.

Rudy barely looked over from the movie to say, "I think it's so interesting that the first half has no dialogue, but we still know a lot about WALL-E and EVE just through their beeps, sounds and body language."

"Yeah, that is interesting," Erin stated, appreciating Rudy's attempt to explain the small details. Erin was never big on details. She was always too focused on the big picture. Rudy, on the other hand, loved details. Some might say that they complemented each other really well.

Rudy continued to watch the movie intently, making a note of every intentional sound, color, and movement.

About twenty minutes into the movie, Erin asked, "How do you think the space ship had enough food for all those people? Like it's not like they planned on being in space for that long."

Rudy laughed, "I haven't thought about that."

"Oh my God, I noticed a detail about a movie that you haven't notice!" Erin gloated.

Rudy responded sarcastically, "I want to be an actor, Erin. Not a person who figures out how to feed morbidly obese people on a space ship while the world beneath them melts away."

"Still want to be an actor, eh?" Erin asked, raising her eyebrows.

"Yeah, I mean, I would love to but, I don't think it will work out. My parents would never let me do it, though, since the income is so unstable." Rudy sighed, realizing that he was probably not destined to be an actor.

Erin noticing his dilemma, gave a reassuring smile, "I mean, have you auditioned for anything? Did you audition for that one show? Have you heard back from them?"

"Yeah, I did audition for that show. But, I mean, I auditioned for Netflix before graduation, and they still hadn't called me back. I just don't think it is meant to be, Erin. I'll probably just be a real estate agent like my Pops wants me to." Rudy said, unexcited for his future endeavors.

"Well, Netflix doesn't know what they are missing on. Plus, whatever you decide to do, I'm sure you'll be great at it." Erin smiled lightheartedly.

After their little conversation, they continued to watch the movie. Every now and then, Rudy would point out small details that Erin tried to care about.

"Would you still be friends with me if I was fat and bound to a wheelchair and eating cupcake-in-a-cup?" Erin asked, half-joking.

"Well, I mean, if we were stuck in space, we wouldn't really have much else to do, so I guess I would still be your best friend," Rudy responded. "Plus, it would be hilarious to watch you roll around in a wheelchair and eat cupcake-in-a-cup."

The movie was just about to end, and Rudy could feel his eyelids getting heavier. Because of this, Rudy decided to lean over and place his head in Erin's lap like he did when they were younger and watched movies together.

"Rudy, what are you doing?" Erin laughed, questioning why Rudy was lying down on her lap.

Rudy's words were muffled, but Erin could decipher Rudy saying, "I'm too tired to move."

Erin didn't question it and the two continued to watch the rest of the movie in that position. By the end of the movie, Rudy had wrapped his arm around Erin's leg, and Erin was unable to move. Rudy looked so comfortable anyway. She felt bad, disturbing him.

"Hey, Rudy," Erin whispered, trying to wake up Rudy. No answer. He must have fallen asleep.

"Rudeth," Erin whispered again. Still no success.

He looked so peaceful, so Erin decided to grab her phone and take a quick picture of her best friend. Hopefully, he didn't think that was too creepy. Oh well, Erin thought it was pretty cute.

"Rudy, buddy, you have to get up." Erin finally said at a normal volume, which woke Rudy up.

"God, c'mon, I was so comfortable." Rudy complained, rolling over.

"Sorry, I couldn't feel my legs anymore," Erin laughed.

"I'm sorry," Rudy mumbled, half asleep.

Erin leaned over Rudy to reach the light switch before grabbing the blankets, "Goodnight, Rudy,"

Rudy rolled over to see Erin lying right beside him and smiled to himself. "Goodnight, Erin," Rudy said as he rolled back over and shut his eyes.
