'Alright, make entry.'

You felt like you got hit in the stomach when the police stepped through your door, after asking who you were and showing you a search-warrant.

A few policemen went upstairs, while the rest of them went to search the living room.

You froze. What's going on? What happened? What is happening right now?

'We found something!'

You turned around and saw one officer holding a small bag of heroin.

You went to the kitchen to find more policemen standing there. You knew it wasn't you they we're looking for, though.

'Mom?'

Your mother was standing in the kitchen as well, she just finished doing the dishes. She had dark circles underneath her eyes, eyes which started to turn red and watery. Yours did too.

Before you knew it the they took her away.

'Mom...' you mumbled, but then started to shout while following them outside. 'MOM!!'

It was starting to get dark. You saw your dad standing beside the patrol cars, while your mother was getting into one.

You started to run towards her, but two officers held you back.

'Please! Let me talk to her!'

Tears were streaming down your face as you tried to push them away.

You felt a hand on your shoulder, it was your dad, who held you as you watched your mother being transported to the police station.

It was cruel, being asked to pack your things at this time, but you didn't have a choice.

The car ride was awfully long, despite the fact that your dad's house wasn't far from your mother's.

They had been divorced since you were 7 years old. Your dad had been out of the country for 2 years after that, leaving you with your mom.

When he came back he moved into the same city again. You visited him every other week, in weekends only.

You stared out the window of the car, not saying a word to your dad.

You got out of the car and walked inside the house. Although you had been there many times before, it didn't feel like home at all.

Holding your suitcase, you went upstairs straight away.

You heard your dad calling your name, but you ignored him and locked the door of your room.

The room was quite empty, not much decoration at all, all you saw was your double-bed with white sheets, a white rug, a lamp on a white desk... lot's of white, basically.

You dropped your suitcase, took off your jacket and let yourself fall on the bed.

Thinking the situation couldn't get any worse, you saw your phone light up inside the pocket of your jacket, and heard the sound your phone always made when you got a message. You grabbed your phone and looked at the bright screen.
