Everyone waited in silence for the last member to come out.
The coach walked up to a few teachers and to the other coach in the back, asking about the situation.
Both of the swimming teams looked at each other, not knowing what to do.
Students started to whisper.
'Where is he?'
'I heard he hasn't been to school this entire week.'
'I heard he quit school.'
'Alright, everyone.' the coach then announced, silencing the crowd. 'I have been told that Bang Chan has been absent for the past few days, not joining swimming practice as well. Of course, to be the leader of the team, that's a pretty crucial thing to do. I am very sorry to say this, but Team Red is hereby declared not to participate in the competition anymore.'
He turned towards Felix, Hyunjin and Jeongin.
'Sorry, boys.' he apologized. 'You are disqualified from the game.'
The three looked at each other with wide, confused eyes.
This was so unfair. They had nothing to do with this.
All because one member didn't show up?
'And so..' the coach continued, 'Team Blue becomes the winner of the swimming competition!'
The reactions of the team members differed. Some seemed to be really happy and excited, others seemed disappointed.
'This is bullshit!'
Changbin, who was sitting behind you, started to stand up. All eyes were on him now.
'Yeah!' another voice from the other side of the crowd yelled.
More people started join by standing up and expressing their anger at the coach and other teachers.
'Please, everyone, calm down.' the coach raised his hands to quiet down the students. 'I'm sorry it has to be this way. I'd like to ask everyone to leave. Team Blue, you can come over and claim your reward. Don't forget to celebrate afterwards.'
All though many students weren't planning on leaving, they did anyways, to avoid upcoming chaos.
You too went outside.
While holding your bag you made your way to the big schoolyard, only to encounter someone you hadn't seen in a while.
'So your boyfriend didn't show up?' a mocking voice asked you.
It was Lucas, with a grin on his face, his eyes dark as usual.
You didn't even bother to respond, but sighed out of annoyance and tried to walk away.
'Thanks to him our team won.' the tall boy continued.
You were done. Absolutely done with his bullshit. You put your bag on the ground and stood across him.
'Seriously, Lucas?' you said, your arms crossed. 'Wasn't I clear the last time?'
He let out a small scoff out of surprise. He had never seen you this way.
'What?'
'I told you to get out of my life.' you stated confidently. You were anything but scared of him right now, something you wished you were way earlier.
'Now why would you want that?'
He walked closer to you, trying to intimidate you as usual.
This time you were sick of his games.
