Have you ever been blinded by the love and lust that you felt for someone that you thought they could do no wrong? Like the person you saw and the person they are underneath weren't the same?
I had only known him for a couple of weeks, but it seemed as if I had known him my whole life. The way his words persuaded me into doing things that I've never done before, the way his aura radiated off of him convincing me that with him by my side we could conquer the world, and the way his voice sounded made it seem like everything was going to be fine. The thing was everything was a lie. He used me, he manipulated me, and the worst part of it all... He loved me.
As my unconscious state begin to fade, a bright light came into view. The beeping noise in my right ear began to quicken as I felt myself about panic. Where was I? How did I get here? How long have a been here? And who is here with me?
A group of people in white coats surrounded me. Little bright lights flashing in my eyes, and questions that I didn't know the answer to at the moment were tossed around the room like a hot potato.
Suddenly, a booming voice sounded from the door, then everything went quiet. "Would you all give the girl some room to breathe? She just woke up and I'm sure she has a lot of questions. All of you go back to your stations, I'll handle this on my own." The group of people in the white coats disbursed like little mice.
The silence returned and it was only me and the dude with the big voice. "Now that they are all gone, I'm gonna ask you a couple of standardize questions, do a quick little check up, and then I'll leave you the rest." I gave a quick nod Of acknowledgment even though I was still kind of out of it.
" do you know your name?" He asked, as he checked my arm.
"I-it's Parker" I stuttered a response. My throat Felt dry, I need water like now. I attempted to move, but as soon as I lifted my head off the pillow, a sudden dizziness took over my body. I decided It was in my best interest just to leave it be.
"OK Parker, do you know where you are?"
"I'm gonna take a wild guess and say a hospital because of the jacket."
He chuckled, " I guess the white coat was a dead giveaway, wasn't it?" A small smile crept its way onto my face. I nodded sheepishly, then stared at the ceiling as he continued to check me. "Last question, then I promise I will leave you alone. Do you remember anything?"
"N-not completely.. I only remember pieces," I admitted. "The last thing I remember is meeting some guy on our vacation. Everything after that is a blur." A big blob of nothing. I don't remember much about him. All I remember is his mesmerizing forest green eyes and the scent of mint. After that, it all fades to black.
