Miss Kim had rearranged the dorm room to look more like an office. "Mr. Peirce," she nodded towards Nathan, "Mr. Jackson." She nodded at Joey, "What is so urgent, that you have to bother me at 9:00 in the morning?" Nathan gulped, "Uhm I was in the common room earlier, counting our supplies, and I noticed there isn't enough food to last us until our next supply run..."

Miss Kim readjusted herself in her chair and sat up tall, "Nathan.. you know my rule is very clear, NO SUPPLY RUNS UNTIL FRIDAY."
He glanced over at Joey, who was bouncing his knee up and down looking at the floor, trying to distract himself. "Miss Kim.. we need to do something now, people are already not eating enough. Some of them cannot wait almost five more days to get a small ration of food." Miss Kim glared at Nathan, it made him want to crawl into a shell like a turtle.

"He's right, Miss Kim, we honestly cannot afford to lose anymore people... I mean, as far as we know, we are the only ones from this school that are alive," Joey defended.

"Alright, seeing as you both have made somewhat valid points, I will allow it this one time. But if you are not back in 2 days, we will mark you doors down," she said coldly.

"Thank you, Miss Kim," Nathan smiled. The two boys exited the room, beaming. "YES!!" they both whisper-yelled and high fived. "Thanks for having my back in there dude," Nathan said as they made their way down the stairs onto the second floor, where their rooms were located. "Don't mention it, I felt her laser beams burning through you SO... I knew I had to help," Joey chuckled.

Nathan and Joey split up as they went into their separate rooms. He thought about what he needed most, the essentials.

I should bring my pocket knife, my baseball bat... Hmm what else.. oh! My emergency med kit, flash light, and a blanket.

Nathan packed up his bag and waited outside his door for Joey. After about three minutes, he emerged with his bag and a hunting bow. "Joey, how long have you had that!?" "I come from a family who hunts a lot." Nathan guffawed," I believe you have no idea how helpful that bow would have been in so many different situations!!" Joey laughed, " I only use it for emergencies!"

They both made their way down to the first floor, passing by Katie's room again, Joey grimaced at the red X mark on her door. After going past the common room, they exited the building, walking towards the front gate. There were two watch people sitting on top of two different vans. "Hey Sarah, hey bailey, can you let is through the gate?" Nathan said waving. "Yeah sure, Miss Kim already told me," Sarah answered as she and Bailey hopped down and pulled open the gate.

"Well, boys, good luck! You're going to need it," Bailey patted Nathan and Joey on the back.

Yeah, trying to gather food for about 15 people that will last a few days, we are going to need all of the frickin luck we can get!
