I am a burrito

I AM THE BURRITO

Perse eyes widened.

"A pizza burrito!!!" She yelled wiggling in her tightly tucked blanket.

Argus would freak.

"Yep," she nodded to herself "It'll have bacon, sausage, pizza, steak, nacho cheese, cream."

Wrapped in a flour tortilla

"Fuck, I'm a genius! Like Annabeth level." Perse grinned leaning into her soft leather couch.

Having come home a couple hours ago, Perse was already dressed in her night-ware. As in wearing pink, black star pajama shorts and a blue pullover.

The simple get together had drained her. More than it should have. Her new group of friends had touched topics she was desperately trying to not let effect her. The whole thing really just sapped all of her mental energy.

It was now twelve a.m. and she was ready to relax.

Hence why she was currently wrapped like a burrito; watching 'New Girl'.

Minutes later, countless sleepless nights started to creep up on her.

Sleep. Her body craved.

Nightmares. Her mind fought.

She felt her grip on the blanket loosen. The tv was blurring and the shows jingle slowly started to become muffled.

. . .

Then a scream echoed from the woods. It had sounded so far, and had been so soft Perse thought she was dreaming it. With the way her dreams had been going it was a decent assumption.

Until another scream hit her ears. This one drawing her to the side of the living.

Perse glared at the ceiling.

"Do I have to?" She mumbled to no one.
"Yes."

She facepalmed.

Dragging herself off her warm blanket she reached out for riptide.

Won't hurt

Tennies on but not tied she exited through the back, heading for the stream where she had fought that hell hound. It would be better for her if she were near water.

Already knowing where to go, Perse was quick to follow the trail of water deeper than she had gone the day before. The cool water flooded her shoes, it felt good against her toes.

And still she remained perfectly dry.

Scanning the woods, Perse became more and more antsy the further she went. There was no noise whatsoever. None.

It was like every animal and insect decided to hibernate. Which was impossible considering it was summer not winter. The forest should be loud with crickets and bugs.

Unless

She squeezed riptide, uncapping it; Perse didn't like the options popping in her head at the moment.

The creek was still going, showing no signs of stopping. Riptide and the moon being the only things providing her some light.

Soon Perse spotted a bright light off in the near distance. Following it, she realized it was a lamp. A lamp very much attached to a house.

I have neighbors? Who's lives in the middle of the woods?
. . .
I live in the middle of the woods

"Well then we're both idiots." Perse muttered.
