He starred in front of himself while lacking any emotional expression. His eyes gazed blankly on the floor. He didn't say a thing. Memories flooded his mind as he remembered his favorite game with his father. He was unsure of the thought about it brought him cheer or pain. Perhaps both. It was a nice feeling to look back at it, but even more painful since he would never be able to return to it. Most likely. Not that he wouldn't try once having a reason and a chance.

He wouldn't go back empty handed. With nothing but a broken mind.

❝  I loved to duel with me father ❞ he whispered, his voice was getting low as his amber hues remained focus on the spot he was starring down at for a little while. He still remembered how his wooden sword hit his. How he was getting quicker, stronger and more strategic each time he fought his father. He swore to himself to beat him one day. To make him proud that he has learned so well from him, that he even managed to surpass him. Ever since the last time, he didn't really had a chance to duel anybody. He deeply wished he could, but the pirate doubted anyone would be willing to participate.

❝ I loved each and every second of it ❞ he couldn't think of anything negative when it came to dueling. Each failure meant being told what he did better. How he could improve. He learned, failing didn't mean the end of the world. But a beginning of a better attempt, and following that, a more liklely success. A success that would fill him with pride, confidence and feed his very starved mind with what it needed. The feeling of being better. Of success and triumph.

Failure was a lesson. Never a bad thing.
