Olivia's POV
We walked out of my apartment door and down the hallway to the stairs since both me and Spencer don't trust the elevator in my building. He opened the entrance door for me like the absolute gentleman he is and we walked down the sidewalk to the coffee house. We walked next to each other and at the same pace. People walked passed us and glanced our way as we walked. I didn't pay attention to it until someone bumped into Spencer and pushed him.
"Hey! Watch where you're walking dude!" Said the person who bumped into Spencer.
"Oh- I'm sorry-" Spence started.
"Excuse me. No don't apologize to him." I said cutting off Spencer. He looked down at me worried. "You bumped into him. Not the other way around. How bout you watch where you're walking." I said to the guy.
"What did you say you little brat?" The guy asked.
"You heard me." I said looking him dead in the eye.
"Alright. Hey, we're leaving now. Sorry for the inconvenience." Spencer said as he started to walk away with me in tow.
"What are you doing?" I asked still heated from what just happened.
"I was stopping you from beating him up." He said as he stopped and looked back at me. I looked at him for a minute and saw his expression.
"That happens to you a lot doesn't it. That's why you didn't argue." I said in disbelief.
"Yeah, it happens from time to time." He said as he started to walk to our destination.
"Wait! Don't walk away like that. Why haven't you told me?" I asked as I rushed to keep up with him.
"It didn't seem important, and besides, how would I even bring that up in a conversation. Like, oh yeah people bump into me on a weekly basis because I look like I won't do anything about it." He said while he kept walking. He didn't even glance down at me.
"Spence." I said lightly.
"No it's fine let's just our coffee and try to have a good time." He said with a small smile when he finally glanced down at me. I nodded and looked behind me for that stupid imbecile, and yes I know I practically said the same word twice. I shrugged it off and continued walking.
"So, where did we want to go when we have our coffee?" I asked him.
"We could stop at the bookstore after, it's not that far from the coffee house." He said.
"Maybe on our way home. If we went now I wouldn't be able to get you to leave." I said with a chuckle. He lightly pushed me away with a smile on his face. I laughed some more and lightly punched his arm. He stuck his tongue out at me and opened the door for me. I shook my head with a small smile and walked in the coffee house. Spence walked in after me and followed me in line. When it was our turn to order Stacy smiled at me. Yes I know all of the barista's that work here. What can I say? I come here a lot, it's like an addiction.
"I haven't seen you in a good minute. Let me guess the usual? Or have you changed it up?" She asked me.
"Yep, the usual." I said as I reached into my bag to pull out my wallet.
"Alrighty! And what will the handsome man beside you have?" She asked in a teasing manner. I chuckled.
"His name is Spencer and he'll have a black coffee with ass tones of sugar in it." I said looking at her. She smiled and nodded as she put in our orders.
"Alright that will be $6.39." She said while looking at the both of us. I saw Spencer start to raise his arm to pay so I held it down and handed Stacy my card. He looked at me strangely as she took it from my hands.
