Ava's POVThe pain is too much to describe. It killed me to see Harry like that, having to tell me I nearly died in front of him and that our... baby is dead. It still hasn't sunk in yet. I was pregnant?!
The doctor said I was allowed to change into some more comfortable clothes. The scar left from the bullet is horrible, It's not big but it will remind me what happened for the rest of my life, along with the mental pain if that wasn't enough.
I now sit, my legs crossed with a magazine on my lap, on the hospital bed. I still need 'rest' according to the doctor but I have a busy life. Doctor Thornes explained to me what happened after I was shot and how to treat the wound. He also said I might need counselling from the incident but im not mad.
I flip through the latest issues of Glamour, the latest fashion and offers at various outlets. I glance up occasionally at the TV, currently on MTV news when a headline catches my attention.
"Breaking News. We have latest for you guys regarding the One Direction Hostage and shooting. No need to worry as all the boys and girlfriends of 1D are fine from the 'revenge attack' believed to be aimed at Harry Styles' girlfriend, Ava Valentine. She was said to be the victim in this attack, having been shot however she is recovering at hospital and will be discharged soon. Moving on, Take That's tour dates-"
I switch the channel over. The media really know how to make things sound like gossip.
Harry's POV
I am currently standing in the foyer of the hospital, waiting for Paul to show up. I pace up and down, scowling at the vast amount of media and press waiting to snap a picture of the recently headlined 'Revenge attack victim' but that's not going to happen.
"Finally Paul, what took so long?" I say as we share a handshake-hug.
"Sorry Harry, I've sorted it anyway. There's a car out at the back, no press." He replies as we make our way to Ava's room.
"Good, thanks. What did you do?"
"Let's just say, what should have been done a long time ago has been done now." He laughed, a weight lifts off my shoulders and one less thing to worry about.
I push open the sterilized white doors to reveal Ava sitting on her bed, her head on her hands.
"Babe, what's wrong?" I rush over to her, shielding her frame from the world.
"I can't take it anymore." She sniffles.
"If you're on about the press, there not going to say anything else, Liam's sorted it. There's a car waiting outside with your name on it."
"Thank you Harry, I don't know what I would do without you." She says as her lips touch mine.
"Come on, let's go home." I smile, grabbing her hand and duffle bag off the chair. I lead her out of the room, letting Thornes know were leaving. Paul shows us where the car is. I hold the door open for Ava to get in and I sit down next to her.
"Hey, it's going to be alright." I assure her, our hands latched together.
**
I carefully place Ava on our bed and pull the cover over her. She looks so peaceful when she sleeps.
"No one is going to hurt you again." I whisper, placing a kiss to her temple before heading towards the balcony.
Flash Back
"Woah, who's that?" I ask Liam as I walk into the cafeteria, pointing towards the most beautiful girl I've seen.
"That is Ava Valentine. But sorry mate she's taken." Liam replies, flinging his rug sack onto the table.
"No wonder. Who?" I reply, trying to take my eyes away, just as the football team walk in.
"Him." Liam points to one of the players. I watch, anger boiling inside me as a guy, tall with brown hair and way too much confidence, walks over to her and places a kiss on her cheek. I clench my fists, watching as she shifts uncomfortably next to him.
"Not for much longer." I mutter.
"What?" Liam asks.
"Nothing" I grab my bag and make my way over to the exit.
*Few days later*
I walk to English, The corridors stuffy on the hot summer's day. I make my way up the stairs, later than usual.
"Brad what don't you understand? We're not dating anymore!" An angelic voice states.
"Why? What have I done?" 'Brad' replies.
I approach them slowly, watching as the same girl from the other day, tries to walk away but Brad grabs her arm, pulling her back. I can see immediately she is scared and intimidated by the arrogant prick.
"Hey!" I shout "Leave her alone."
"What? You dumped me for him?" Brad laughs crossing his arms over his chest.
"No-" "Yes" I cut her off. "Now if you'll excuse us. We're leaving." We walk off leaving an angry Brad behind.
"Umm, thanks but who are you?" The pretty girl asks, her chestnut brown eyes staring into mine.
"Harry, Harry Styles."
"Well Harry, Im Ava and thanks for saving me from him." She smiles.
"No need, just doing my part, I wanted a chance to talk to the pretty girl who's name I now know." Her cheeks blush as she looks down.
~~
"What did you even see in him anyway?" I laugh, leaning back on the grass field as Ava tells me what's happened in the school year's I've missed.
"Well, this is just between me and you Haz,"My heart warms at my new nickname, "Me and my friends were at a party and we were playing Truth or Dare, everyone was telling me how much Brad wanted to ask me out so they dared me to go out with him. But now he's really clingy and won't let it go that I don't want to go out with him anymore."
I laugh at her honesty. I decided we should just skip 4th and 5th period and get to know each other better. We have quite a lot in common.
"Don't worry, he won't bother you again."
