"Y/n?" Renée asked, "How are you feeling?" You looked at Renée. "I'm doing great,"You said, "My side still hurts a little, but I'll be fine."

Renée took some test, and wrote down your heart-rate. "I'm going to turn these in,"Renée said, "And I will be right back." You nodded, and Renée left.

You needed to use the bathroom, so you slowly stood up from the bed. Your monitor started beeping.
Darnell and your mom woke up. "What are you doing mama?" Your mom asked.

"...I needed...to pee,"You said softly, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you guys up." Your mom sat up, and ran her hands through her hair. "It's fine,"Your mom said, "Let me go get the nurse, I'll be back."

"Ok,"You said. Your mom left the room. Darnell walked over to you. "You ok?" Darnell asked. You nodded. "Help me back into bed?" You asked. Darnell nodded.

"I'm going to lift you up a little,"Darnell said, "Ok." You nodded. "On three,"Darnell said, "One...Two...Three." Darnell lifted you up a little, and sat you down on the bed.

The nurse walked into the room, with your mom. "Darnell, you need to step out of the room really quickly,"Your mom said. "Why?" Darnell asked, "What's happening?"

"Um,"Renée said. "...Darnell, she's not in the proper position to be seen,"Your mom said. "She looks fine to me,"Darnell said. You smiled and laughed a little.

"D,"You said, "What mom is trying to say is that I'm not wearing any clothes underneath the gown." "Oh,"Darnell said.

You all laughed. "I-I'm going to go back home really quick, check on the boys,"Darnell said. You nodded, and Darnell left.

"Alright,"Renée said, "I'm going to lift this part of your gown, so that I can see the wound." You nodded, and she lifted the gown.

"The healing is getting better,"Renée said, "The only thing you need to worry about is moving too much." "Can...I have the...elctrodes on my chest aga-,"You where going to ask, but you started gasping for air.

"Hey, hey," Renée said, "Look at me. Calm down. I got you. You're going to be fine." Renée walked over to the heart monitor. "Dr. Karev!" Renée yelled.

Renée ran out of the room, and toward the doctors. "What's wrong Nurse Hayes?" Dr. Karev asked. "She is hyperventilating,"Renée said, "On the way to a heart attack if we don't calm her."

Dr. Karev and Dr. Poly ran into your room. "Poly give her three ounces of Narcotics,"Dr. Karev said. Poly walked over and have you three ounces of narcotics. "Hopefully that'll save her life,"Poly said.

"Excuse me?" Renée asked, "Are you seriously joking about her?" "I mean,"Poly said, "She got shot, she does live in the hood. It was going to happen sooner or later."

"I don't have time for your bullshit!"Renée yelled, "I'm trying to save her live, now help me!" "Who is she to you?" Poly asked.

"She's my stepdaughter,"Renée said, "And if you are not going to help, then you need to get the hell out." Poly left the room. Dr. Karev walked over to you. "Y/n," Dr. Karev said, "I need you to calm down. You need to calm down."

"I...I'm scared,"You said softly. "Don't be,"Dr. Karev said, "You're going to be fine, we promise. We are going to take care of you." You nodded a little.

"Now,"Dr. Karev said, "Please, calm down." You started breathing normally again. Renée looked at your heart monitor. It was normal again. Renée ran her hands through your hair.

"You're okay sweetie,"Renée said softly, "You're perfectly fine." You smiled. Your mom saw you and Renée smiling at each other, and she smiled. "Where are you living Renée?" Your mom asked.

"In Crenshaw,"Renée said. "By yourself?" Your mom asked. Renée nodded. "Come stay with Darnell and I,"Your mom said. "Really?" Renée asked. Your mom nodded. "Then I will,"Renée said.

"Knock knock,"Billy said. "Who is it?" You asked. "The Bakers,"Laura said. "Come in,"You said. They walked into the room. Olivia hugged you. "Hi,"Olivia said. "Hi,"You said.

"How've you been?" Laura asked. "I've been well,"You said, "I get to leave the hospital tomorrow." "That's great,"Billy said. "Momma,"You said, "Come here."

Your mom walked over to you. "Where's my phone?" You asked. Your mom passed you your phone. You texted Olivia.

You: Hey, where's Jordan?
Liv🎧: He is on the field, at school. Taking a breather.
You: Is he ok?
Liv🎧: We um, we heard about what happened this morning. Jordan freaked out, and went to the field. We came here to check on you.
You: Ok. I'm going to text him.
Liv🎧: Alright.

You texted Jordan.

You: Hey, are you alright?
Jordan🏈: Yeah y/n. I'm perfectly fine. My girlfriend is in the hospital, and she almost died today. So yeah, I'm fine.
You: Jordan.
Jordan🏈: What?
You: Stop worrying about me baby. I'm fine. I promise.
Jordan🏈: You're in the Damn hospital! I am not going to stop worrying until you leave! When do you leave?
You: Tomorrow.
Jordan🏈: Great. Look, I gotta go.
You: Ok.

You put your phone back on the table. "Are you alright?" Your mom asked. You nodded. "It's time for you to get some rest,"Renée said.

You nodded again, ate dinner, say goodbye to everyone, and you went to sleep.
