"Good night Grandma, I need to get to bed early school starts tomorrow!" I yelled from my room. I'm still pissed at her. She explained it to me simply on the ride home, Ben wanted to see me. Which I don't understand, he didn't even know who I was when he started talking to her. But I can't stress about that now, it's hard enough to fall asleep the night before school, I need to count sheep or something. I need to sleep easy.

All night my dreams were about Joe, and how we were going to meet for the first time since May. Some dreams were pleasant, while others were nightmares.

Ding ding! Oh great its my favorite noise. My alarm clock went off for the first time. The clock read 5:05. No matter how early I went to bed and how many hours of sleep I received, it never felt like enough. I jumped right out of bed and knew the first day of senior year was the biggest school day of your life aside from kindergarten. I gave myself plenty of time to get ready. Especially since my untamed beast of hair had to get straightened.

I ran into my closet and picked out the perfect outfit. High waisted shorts, white converse and a cropped muscle tee with Hawaii written across the front. And of course my mom didn't have the money or care to take a vacation to Hawaii, but buying this shirt made me have hope for a better life.

I straightened my hair which took forty five minutes. I looked at my clock once more, the clock read 6 o'clock. I had to leave my house by 7. I had plenty of time. So I sent Joe a quick email, and put on some lip gloss and mascara. I was too nervous to eat breakfast so I packed my lunch. Chicken Caesar salad and salted almonds on the side. I felt so hipster.

I picked up my bright teal and lace jansport backpack and headed into my grandmas car. The clock read 6:53. My mom never let me take a drivers test because I guess she doesn't want me to grow up, leave her house and actually live alone. Somewhere, deep ,deep, deep inside of her she actually cares about me, but she is too chicken to show it. Gram then drove me to school.

Joe had sent me an email earlier this morning to meet him by the willow tree at 7:30. And I truly could not wait to see him. The car ride seemed to take forever and I couldn't wait any longer to see Joe. Finally we pulled up to the school yard and I saw the bright green tree, and a boy standing next to it.

"Bye gram!" I yelled slamming the door to her car. I gathered my backpack and my flute and ran towards the tree. The moment was here, and Joe was just 20 feet from me. Nothing could ruin this moment, we've waited too long for it.
