As Monie Sat In The Hospital Bed, Trying To Adjust Her Eyes To The Lighting, She Couldn't Believe What Had Happened. Her Memory Was Still A Little Foggy, But From What She Could Remember, Her Aunt Was Touching Herself While Her Uncle Took Her Innocence. How'd She End Up At The Hospital Was The Question. Monie Looked Around For The Remote To Turn The Tv Down And Noticed It Had A Speaker And "Help" Button. She Pressed It And A Lady's Voice Came Through The Speaker.

"Hey There Honey, I'm Glad You're Awake, I'll Send Your Doctor In Shortly."

"How'd I Get Here? Can I Get Something To Drink,"

At That Moment A Woman Who Resembled A Taller Version Of Taraji P. Henson Walked In.

"Hey Sweetheart, I'm Dr. Burrell. Can You Tell Me How Much You Remember About How You Got Here?"

Monie Tried To Sit Up A Little Further. "Well I Remember My Uncle Hurting Me," She Said As Her Eyes Fell To The Floor. "I Also Remember Seeing My Aunt Right Before I Passed Out, And Then I Woke Up Here."

"Well Honey You've Been Out For About Two Weeks Now."

"TWO WEEKS?! Where's Kim And Ryan?! I Have To Go To School," Monie Started To Cry As She Attempted To Remove Her IV. It Didn't Feel Like Two Weeks. It Felt Like It Just Happened The Night Before. The Calendar May Have Said One Thing, But Her Pain Said Another. She Looked Around For Her Clothes.

"Where Are My Clothes?!"

"Si'Mone You Have To Calm Down Okay? I Need You To Understand That Since You're A Minor, We Can't Release You On Your Own. While You Were Asleep, When Ran A Load Of Tests And You Don't Have Any Diseases From That Bastard Thank God, But..."

"But What?!" Monie Looked At Dr. Burrell With Eyes Filled With Fear.

"You Are Pregnant."

Pregnant At 14. How Was At That Even Possible. Or An Even Better Question, How Could She Be Pregnant By Her Blood Uncle At 14. The Room Fell Silent. All You Could Hear Was The Faint Shallow Breaths That Si'Mone Managed To Push Out. As Her Face Turned A Bright Red, She Began To Cry. Dr. Burrell Gently Rubbed Your Leg.

"Babygirl I Have A Daughter Just Around Your Age, And It Breaks My Heart That You're In Here Under These Conditions, But Believe Me You're Not Alone. Now You Don't Have To Keep It If You Don't Want To. We Have A Specialist Here, Who Will Come And Talk To You About The Pros And Cons Of Keeping This Child Or Giving It Away. Just Let Me Know What You Would Like To Do."

Monie Sat And Stared Into Space. She Had Heard What The Doctor Said, But How Could She Make That Decision Right Now? Where Was She Gonna Live? How Would She Support A Child At Such A Young Age. How Could She Carry Something She Regrets For 9 Months? So Many Questions Ran Through Her Mind And All She Could Say Was, "I Need Time."

Dr. Burrell Hated The Fact That Such A Beautiful Young Girl Was Alone. She Knew That Once They Checked Her Out, She'd Be Released Into The Custody Of DCFS. She Didn't Want Monie To Grow Up In Foster Care, Let Alone Raise A Child In Foster Care. She Went Into Her Office And Called One Of Her Lawyers Friends Who Dealt With Child Abuses Cases.

"Well If She Has No Other Relatives, And You're Absolutely Positive You're Wanting To Take Her In, I Can Draw Up Some Documents And Present Them To Judge Delco. He Has A Little Girl Himself So It Shouldn't Be Hard. She'll Be Living With You In No Time."

"That's All I Want. I Want To Give Her A Home, And Show Her That She Is Loved, So Please Do All You Can, I'll Appre..."

"CODE BLUE, DR. Burrell You're Needed In Room 208 Star!"

" That's Si'Mones Room. I Gotta Go Just Please Do All You Can."

As She Reached Si'Mones Room She Asked What Happened. Her Vitals Were Dropping And Her Breathing Was Becoming More Shallow. Dr. Burrell Looked Over At The Table And Noticed A Small Bottle In Monie's Purse. She Quickly Walked Over And Grabbed The Empty Bottle. It Was An Instant Sleep Medication.

"Okay We'll Have To Pump Her Stomach, She's Overdosing On Temazepam. Someone Call Dr. Grayson. He'll Be Able To Help."

***

That Night While Monie Was Asleep, They Transferred Her To The Suicide Watch Ward. She Knew It Was Stupid Trying To Attempt A Suicide In A Hospital But She Just Didnt Know What Else To Do. When She Woke Up She Held Her Face And Cried. She Felt So Alone. As She Comtinued To Cry, She Heard A Knock On Her Door Then A Familiar Voice.

"Hey Si'Mone How Are You Feeling?" It Was Dr. Burrell. "I Have Great News. How Would You Like To Come Home With Me? A Friend Of Mine Got Ahold To A Judge And He Agreed To Let You Live With Me.. Permanently. If You Want To."

Monie Looked At Her And Cried Even Harder. This Doctor Didnt Even Know Her And She Was Willing To Take Her Into Her Home. Not Even Her Own Family Wanted To Treat Her Right. Monie Knew It Was A God. Not Only Did He Bring Her Through Every Horrible Situation, But He Also Provided Her With An Angel By The Name Of Jasmine Burrell.

"I'd Love To!"
