Eventually, Hinata slowed to a stop in front of some forest. As I got out of the car, I could hear music blasting from the middle of the woods. Hinata grabbed my hand and guided me towards the sounds.
"Where are we going?" I asked, nervous. I had always hated parties, especially sketchy ones in the middle of the forest at 3 in the morning. Thankfully, Hinata wasn't the type to abandon you at a party. He was so good hearted, and had a caring side. He sensed my nerves, and gave my hand a little party.
"We're just going to hang out with a few friends. I promise I won't leave your side," He answered.
I smiled to myself at his comment, but then I saw the "few friends" Hinata was referring to. It was actually a group of at least 40 kids, all dancing, screaming, and drinking. God I should have stayed in bed.
But Hinata didn't break his promise. He took me around everywhere, introducing me to his friends and taking me to carve our names into a tree. Despite my hatred of parties, it wasn't terrible. I even talked to some of Hinata's friends. His friends Daichi and Suga seemed cool, but one guy named Tsukishima was unbearable. I could not understand how Hinata could hang out with that pompous bitch.
Hinata gave me a few drinks which definitely loosened me up. I ended up dancing and running around like a normal teenager. By the end of the night, I didn't even need Hinata to babysit me.
I wanted him to though.
Eventually, most kids started packing up. The kids we came with even left with some other group of people. I didn't want to leave withought Hinata though. As the night came to an end, Hinata turned to me, saying
"Hey, Kageyama, I want to take you to one of my favorite places."
I followed as he led me through the woods and toward a cliff overlooking a beautiful lake. We sat at the edge and watched the sun rise in silence, appreciating the beauty of the moment. Although the view in front of me was gorgeous, I was more interested in the redhead to my left. I watched as the sun reflected his brown eyes, making him more beautiful than ever. He gazed longingly at the sight before us.
"Doesn't it make you realize how insignificant you are?" He said, still awestruck. I just nodded, looking back at the sunrise. Hinata leaned his head on my shoulder, snuggling into me. I stiffened up at first, but slowly relaxed as my face reddened.
"Y'know, Kageyama," Hinata began "I really like you."
He took his head off of my shoulder and turned to look at me.
"I like you too, Hinata," I said, staring into his beautiful tawny eyes. For a few seconds, we stared at each other in silence and studied each others expressions. Then, Hinata leaned in and began to kiss me deeply. I kissed back, surprised.
I was out of breath by the time he broke away from me. He just smiled and looked back at the sunrise, leaning into me again. I don't know how he could be so calm after what just happened. My face was beet red and my mind was going a million miles per minute.
But then I looked out at the view, and just let myself be present in the moment. I have never felt more at peace than I did when I was kissing Hinata as the sun rose next to us.
