Hinata's POV
"Moooooommmm Im going to go play with Kenma Nowwwwww!!!!"
"Ok! Just come home before dinner!"
"Okay!!!"
Hello there! My name is Shoyo Hinata and I'm just an average boy that lives in a village. I think I am 10 years old right now... But anyways! I'm about to go hang out with my best friend (and only friend) Kenma Kozume!
I first met him when I was walking towards the park with my mommy. He was crying because his car truck was covered with sand. I walked up to him and said "Silly! Your truck is supposed to pick up sand! That's what that big box behind it is for!"
And that's how we became best friends In the whole wide world!
Ever since, we would play Volleyball with this net we found in this piece of land. It had sand with some grass coming out of it. There were some old but beautiful trees surrounding a bit of it and it helped for shade.
Kenma and I would bring our bento's our moms made us and sit on the shade. It was really peaceful.
There would always be a cat that kind of looked like him that would always follow him and lay there with us as we ate.
There would also be this cute looking baby crow that would follow me everywhere. I would sometimes even feed it. Sometimes, I'm surprised how the cat never ate the crow. But oh well.
Everything was going as well as it always would.
But for some reason, I felt like something was following me. It didn't concern me as much because it was probably the baby crow again.
I finally arrived at Kenma's house. I knocked on the door three times. His mom responded rather quickly. She was probably in the kitchen.
"Hi! I came to see if Kenma wanted to play again today!"
"Oh? Hello Shoyo! But of course he'll play! Kenma! Go play with Shoyo!"
Kenma slowly got off the kitchen chair that was a bit too tall for him. He then slowly paced himself towards Hinata.
"Alrighty, you boys be safe out there! And have fun!"
"Thank you Mrs Kozume!"
She hands Kenma his little bento and closes the door behind us before Kenma could turn around and go back inside.
"Come On Kenma! Let's go play! I brought my volleyball!"
Kenma just slowly nods. He wasn't much of a talker, but I still liked him! I held his hand like always so that he wouldn't get lost. We head towards our little area we love so much and Kenma's eyes widened in happiness. The little flowers were blooming on both the trees and the ground. The grass was growing back! It all looked so beautiful.
The Cat was already there, waiting for us to sit down next to him so he could lay on Kenma as we relax until the sun lowers down and gives us a heatstroke.
I place my bento and my volleyball next to me before I lean on the tree. Kenma smiles calmly as the spring's breeze softly passes through our hair.
I still feel like there was something or someone there watching every single move we do.
I try to speak to Kenma and throw that thought at the back of my head for now.
"Hey Kenma? Do you wanna draw with me as we wait for the sun to calm down?"
"Sure, did you bring color pencils?"
"Yeah! Here you go!"
"Thank you"
I hand him a piece of paper I took out of my notebook that I just removed from inside my backpack. I give him a pencil as well and set the coloring pencils out.
Even if I really have an urge of playing volleyball right now I have to wait. My mom said it was going to be really sunny today and we had to wait an hour or so before we played. And what more than drawing to pass the time quickly!
And just like I said, an hour and 27 minutes passed by so fast that we didn't even realize!
"Come Kenma! Let's play! The sun won't hit us that much! Plus, the tree is now covering the sunlight!"
"Ok, let me help you clean up."
"Oh? Okay!"
We put everything up inside my backpack and run to the net. The story of why this place is so clean and has a net is cause of this old man called Ukai that mows the lawn area. He knew we didn't have anywhere else I play so he gave us this place to play! He also bought the net for us to play with! He might seem grumpy but he is really nice. Sometimes he even comes once in a while to teach us how to play!
Kenma did the fist serve. He hit it over the net for high enough for me to receive it but I failed. I ran after the ball.
As I did, I finally saw what was following me since I left my house to go with Kenma. It was a little boy! Just like me!
He was wearing a cloak but the hood was off. His hair was black and his eyes- I didn't get to see the color of his eyes....
He watched me as I took the ball back to Kenma.
I walked towards Kenma and gave him the ball.
"Shoyo, You were supposed to serve the ball-"
"Hey Kenma,"
I whisper into his ear,
"There was a boy following me since I went to get you at your house to play. Do you think he's lost?"
"Huh? Are you sure?"
"Yes, he's right around the corner next to old Ukai's store. I saw him when I went to get the ball."
I look at the boy and then back at Kenma.
"Um... do we ask him if he wants to play?"
"I don't know Shoyo, it might not be a good idea-"
I walked slowly with the ball still on my tiny hands.
As I got closer the boy shyly hid even more."Hey?"
He didn't respond.
"Hi I'm Shoyo Hinata!.... um.... what's your name?"
"I-I'm Tobio Kageyama-"
"Tobio? Do you want to play with us?"
"Um well... I-"
"Huh-"
