"Girl, take the damn test." Cori said. I took the box from her and walked into my bathroom. I didn't really want to take it.

I opened the box and read the directions. I took the test out of the paper and followed the rest of the directions. The directions said I'd only have to wait five minutes for the results.

I got up flushing the toilet and washing my hands. I left the test on the counter, I was too nervous to sit and wait on the results.

I walked out of the bathroom going to sit on my bed beside Cori. I checked my phone seeing I had more missed calls and messages from Glock.

"Just text him back," Cori told me.

"You want me to check it?" Cori asked. "I'll check it," I said as I got back up. I walked into the bathroom looking at the test.

"You got another one? This one can't be right." The test clearly said pregnant. "It's another one in the bag, hold on." she said as she got up and walked out of the room.

She came back in and handed me a WalMart bag. I didn't have to pee at the moment so I had to wait. Should've just peed in a cup.

My phone started ringing. I looked at it seeing it was Glock. "Are you going to tell him?" Cori asked. "After I see what the next test says I will."

I answered and put the phone to my ear. "Lani?"

"Yeah?"

"You cheating on me?" he asked. "No." I told him as I got up to get a bottle of water. "Why you acting like that then?"

"Acting like what?"

"I knew you was gone do all this that's why I told you to come with me," he said. "Me being there isn't going to stop you from doing whatever's been keeping you busy at night." I responded.

"You really tripping, stop acting like this." He said as I took a sip of my water. "Look, I'll call you back when I get done."

"Done doing what? You see what the fuck I'm talking about?" I just wanted to hurry up and finish taking these tests and decide how I was going to tell him. "I'm helping Cori do something. Honestly, though, get your shit together. I'm tired of repeating myself and if you can't do right there's no reason for us to be together." I told him.

"My shit is together. Call me back when you get done."

An hour or two had passed and I finally had the courage to take the second test. I sat the test on the counter and washed my hands once I was finished.

"You check it this time." I said to Cori as I sat on the bed. She let two minutes pass before she got up and looked at it. "Lani!" she semi-yelled.

She came out of the bathroom smiling extra hard. I already knew the test said pregnant, she wouldn't be this excited about a negative one. "We gotta start picking out names."

I didn't know what to say. A baby is a blessing but I just didn't feel like this was the best time for one.

"Lani, don't cry."
