9. 一緒!!

today was the day akeno finally got discharged from the hospital, toru and akeno had just arrived home and akeno was seated down because toru wanted to give her something.
"are your eyes closed"
"yes"
"okay good"
he placed the envelope into her hands as she opened her eyes
"what's this?"
"open it"
she nodded as she opened it revealing two tickets for a one day one night trip to tokyo
"no way"
he nodded
"no. way!!!!!"
she jumped up smiling widely "oh my god thank you toru thank you so much"
he smiled at her "we go tomorrow so you might want to pack some stuff"
her face dropped with the realisation "oh my god you're right!!" she said hurrying up stairs
he laughed as he heard things shuffling around in her room upstairs
he walked upstairs into his own room and began to pack some things himself, that was until akeno barged into the room "i've finished!!" she said a little out of breath
"i'm almost done too"
he said packing some socks into a mini suitcase, zipping it closed after.
"i'm so excited, i'm really happy!..thank you, toru, really"
toru nodded "im excited too"
akeno smiled gently standing in the doorway "let's have fun in tokyo okay?" she said leaving to go to bed.
toru nodded to himself whispering a small "okay" back, he got up and went to bed
the next morning toru was up first and was in the kitchen packing some food to take on the way as akeno walked down, toru stopped everything.
"what..are you"
she look at him confused
"what?"
"are you an imposter..?"
she shook her head "its me!! what are you talking about!"
"did you sleep last night, akeno"
she scrunched her eyebrows running upstairs into the bathroom, where shortly after a scream was heard "my face!!!!!!"
he sighed as he placed the food away and got ready to leave
after a while he came back downstairs to find a normal looking akeno waiting by the door
"oh the real akeno is back"
"be quiet"
"who was that other person"
"BE QUIET!!" she yelled out of embarrassment as she turned away from toru.
he laughed quietly walking towards the door grabbing his things and opened it, letting akeno leave first
"thank you.." she said still avoiding eye contact with him
"i was joking akeno"
silence
he walked in front of her, stopping her from walking away "i'm sorry" he said with the most genuine apologetic face
she looked away pouting a little "it's fine" she skipped away huffing out a small "loser" as he followed behind.
they got onto the train carrying their luggage and so began their mini vacation in tokyo.
the train ride was about 2 hours long, and so shortly after the train departed akeno fell asleep on toru's shoulder. toru had brought a book with him which he read the entire way there. once they reached their destination he woke up akeno and they left the train to find the hotel that they would be staying at.
"is this it?"
"i think so"
they walk into the expensive looking hotel together as akenos eyes sparkle "toru how did you pay for this..?"
"don't worry about it" he said knowing it would upset her if he told her he used all of his savings to pay for this
"ehh?? okay.."
"you stay here i'll go get the key"
she hummed as she waited for toru, who went up to the receptionist.
after a short moment he came back, with the key in his hand. "let's go"
she nodded getting up, grabbing her things, and walked to the elevator. they got off on floor 7 and walked to their room, toru unlocked the door with the key and they walked in.
"this room is huge!!"
"this was the last room with a balcony that i could book the rest were already reserved"
he said leaving the suitcases by the doorway as he watched akeno rush towards the balcony "it's so beautiful!! the view is amazing"
toru hummed as he followed shortly behind her "i thought you might like it"
akeno nodded smiling widely "i love it!"
"do you want to take a look around the area?"
toru suggested walking back inside, akeno turned around grinning "you know it!! there's a beach look!!" akeno laughed going into the bathroom with a bag and came back out shortly after in a change of clothes.
"let's go!!"
toru nodded following akeno to the door "okay"
they spent the entire day out from the early morning until the late evening spending time at the beach, stores, karaoke places, sweet shops and restaurants. by the time they had come back to the hotel to freshen up and go to bed it was already very late and akeno fell asleep almost as soon as she came out of the shower. or so toru thought. when he walked out of the shower and was about to turn off the lights to go sleep, akeno spoke
"toru?"
he looked towards where she was sleeping
"yes"
"can we push the beds together, i feel like i'm gonna drop off"
a stood there silent for a while, but then walked towards his bed pushing it next to akeno's bed.
"thank you"
he nodded walking back to the doorway to turn of the main lights
he walked back toward the now double bed, and got in his side. he stared at the ceiling, unable to sleep.
"toru?"
"yes"
"when we go back to kyoto tomorrow there's a festival, let's go to it"
he hummed "okay"
after a short while toru had given up on sleeping and walked out onto the balcony, looking at how different the sky looked here and how faint the stars could be seen. he sighed taking in one last breath of fresh air and went to bed.
and so after a night of almost no sleep, akeno and toru prepared their things to go back to kyoto. the journey back seemed much longer than the journey there, but toru just blamed that on the fact he didn't sleep well. once they arrived home akeno and toru unpacked their things back into their rooms and began to get ready for the festival, toru was finished first, and was waiting by the door for akeno, who followed a little while after, beautifully dressed from head to toe in a yukata.
"you look pretty"
"thank you toru, now let's go, okay?"
"okay"
they arrived to the festival together. akeno reaches out for toru's hand grasping it and held it tightly
"let's try not to lose each other, okay?" she said smiling gently.
he nodded as they walked past many food and interactive game stools, occasionally stopping to buy stuff or try out a few games, one game in particular caught akenos eye, as a child was trying to play and win a small plushie, and she rushed ahead to play it, toru following behind. she tried to win the game for the child but couldn't. tori leaned down to help her, and they ended up wining together, the old man working at the stall smiled handing over the plushie. akeno grinned "thank you toru" and turned around handing the plushie to the child that was trying to get it before, the child took, smiling widely and hugged akeno "thank you so much!" akeno shook her head smiling gently
"you should thank him" she said pointing towards toru "he won it for you"
the young girl nodded, walking towards toru and bowed, thankful "thank you!"
toru nodded smiling, as they little girl walked away from the stall.
akeno grabbed toru's hand as she walked to the side of one of the stalls
"toru?"
he nodded "yes"
"let's go to the forest!"
