Chapter 6When Demon woke up Aurora was gone. So was Trixie. DarkStalker and Clearsight were sound asleep. Demon got up. He needed to find Aurora. Demon exited the cave and looked around. She was nowhere in sight. He flew over to the academy. Demon landed somewhere above the entrance. It was pointy and hurt his talons. But he saw two Icewings. Aurora and Winter. Demon growled. His grip tightened on the rocks. He will NOT take her away from me! Demon jumped off and landed at the entrance to Jade Mountain Academy. It was only sunrise so Demon could hide in the shadows. Demon was enraged.
"So, if what your saying is true, what can we do?" Winter looked down.
Demon noticed there was a IceWing fight here earlier. But he only saw one IceWing ice on the ground. No more. It must have ended quickly. There was a struggle here not too long ago.
"I don't know. Maybe we should ask Moon." Aurora seemed scared, yet calm.
Winter looked at Aurora. He opened his left wing and put it around Aurora like a blanket.
"Hey, we've got your back." He said.
Demon growled again, louder to himself.
Winter jumped back. Did he hear me? Demon stopped growling. Winter stared at Aurora.
"Why did I-I.." Winter looked around.
Demon closed his eyes and held his breathe, hoping not to get caught.
"I'm Winter, I don't.." Winter looked at Aurora for a long moment. "I have to go." He flew back into the academy. Demon heard enough. He flew as silently as he could to the right side of Jade Mountain. Demon couldn't believe it. Aurora was under a spell that made her love him! But she, instead, hangs out with this "Winter". Winter was supposed to be stubborn, angry, mean. When did he start being kind, calm, and thoughtful? This made no sense. Demon flew back into the cave where he slept.
"Where have you been?"
Demon looked up. Trixie was standing in front of him with a displeased look.
"Your spell failed "oh, I'm so powerful"." Demon growled.
Trixie seemed impressed. Impressed of what though? He looked over to see DarkStalker reading a scroll to Clearsight. Clearsight was looking at the ground. Probably half listening- half trying to think of a way to escape.
"What do you mean?" Trixie asked puzzled.
"Aurora likes Winter. IceWing and IceWing." Demon said. DarkStalker growled but kept reading.
"Oh, well if we got rid of Winter would that help? Then she'll have no choice but to come to you."
Demon liked this idea. Trixie was smarter then she looks. Then he paused. What is wrong with me? What am I even doing? Forcing Aurora to love me? Trying to murder Winter? Am I turning evil? Demon looked at DarkStalker. And I'm working with the best of the best. Of course it's a trap! Demon felt something. Something that was urging him to murder the IceWing. Something.. dark. Demon shook his head. "Let's go kill a IceWing."Chapter 7
Demon walked into The Prey Center. There were animals everywhere! Even two scavengers! Most of the dragons were clawing at each other to get the scavengers. Winter was at a table by himself. Perfect. He seemed sick and worried though. Demon didn't care. He just wanted to get this over with so he could have Aurora all to himself. Aurora was at another table with Clay, Beetle, Palhuma, and Sunny. They were all chatting about how Beetle and Sunny are both NightWing-Sandwing hybrids. This was his chance. All the dragons were distracted. Demon walked behind Winter. If I could just..
"Bloodmoon!"
Demon froze in his tracks. FateSpeaker happily jumped over to him.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
Demon looked at her, then he looked at Winter. He sighed.
"Nothing." Demon said.
FateSpeaker seemed disappointed but carried on.
"Come here, I want to show you something!" FateSpeaker grabbed Demon's leg and tried to make him follow her.
"Ok, ok." Demon took his leg back and followed the NightWing. They were leaving the academy. What did FateSpeaker find that is all the way out here? They both flew over to the Rainforest and past that. They landed on a ledge with two other NightWings. One was dark red. The other was dark blue which seemed unusual. Red and Blue.. that made him think of NightWing and IceWing blood. Demon did know why he was judging their colors. It wasn't their fault.
"Hello, Sightseeker and Kingfighter!" FateSpeaker said cheerfully. The two other NightWings exchanged looks.
"Demon, your wings are red, right?" FateSpeaker looked at Demon. He nodded.
"So, let me introduce, Demon..." FateSpeaker looked at him. Then she pointed to Sightseeker. "Meet your father."
