Dick stared at me with clear annoyance on his face. Panic flared inside of me as the cop car was steadily gaining distance between us. Not even sparing him a second glance, I sprinted to my bike, started the engine, and revved it loudly.

"Are you just going to continue standing there? Get on! We need to get to Rachel before something bad happens to her," I commanded.

Immediately, he went to the back of the bike, and wrapped his hands around my waist. I tried to ignore the feeling of his legs pressed up against mine, and his warm front against my back as I shoot forward in order to keep up with the car. However, I couldn't stop the slight blushed that stained my cheeks. I'm glad that it was dark outside, and he couldn't see my face.

I kept a safe distance away from the car, making sure that it wasn't obvious that we were following it. As we continued our game of cat and mouse, buildings shifted from those of restaurants and shops to buildings littered with graffiti and boarded up windows.

I'm not sure how, but we lost the car as it was turning a corner. Dick and I cursed at the same time because we were both anxious to get to Rachel. I pulled the bike over to the side of the road.

We both got off and looked at our surroundings. It was late at night, and barely any of the street lamps worked at this part of town, causing shadows to appear longer and more sinister. If I didn't know any better I would say we were back in Gotham.

"What did the guy say?" I asked, breaking the silence.

Dick jumped as my voice penetrated the utter stillness of the air. He let out a long breath and put one of his hands behind his head. "Apparently Rachel's mom was found murdered in their home with a gunshot wound to the head. No clue as to who did it."

"Poor Rachel. No wonder the girl was so scared at the precinct."

"Yeah, no kidding. Let's look around at these buildings; they couldn't have gone far."

I nodded and stuck close to him as we began our search. It didn't take long to find where he took her--a lone cop car in an abandoned churchyard sticks out like a sore thumb. Before I could step into the church, Dick pushed me back and gave me a stern look before drawing his gun and turning on a flashlight. It's times like these that I want to punch him in the face because he forgets that I got the same training he did from Bruce. If anything he should be behind me because I have extra gifts.

"Rachel?" Dick called out.

All of a sudden, we hear someone scream, "Help! Help!"

Without even thinking, I pushed Dick aside and bounded up the stairs. I hear Dick calling after me, but I ignored him. Nothing else mattered except making sure Rachel is safe.

I made it up the steps and rounded the corner. In front of me was an open door, and inside the room was Rachel bound to a chair. In front of her was a large man with a knife raised toward her. The blade gleaming in the moonlight. Just as I was about to enter the room, the door slammed shut.

"Rachel! Rachel! Are you alright?" I called out as I tried to force open the door.

At this point, Dick caught up to me, and tried on his own to get the door open. For some reason the door was not budging. Suddenly, the man hit the door, and caused the glass to crack, splattering blood everywhere. I gasped and stepped into Dick's chest at the sight. I just hope Rachel was okay. Desperate times called for desperate measures, and I was about to do something I haven't done in years.

"Stand back, Grayson. You're not gonna wanna touch me," I said.

Dick took a small step back but still stayed close to me. "Are you sure you want to do this, Sky?"
