Screams. That's all I heard around me. Screams. It doesn't matter what kind of screams they were. Some were of manic glee; others anger, but it all blurred until it filled my senses.

Huddled in my own room at Arkham Asylum the emotions of all of the inmates bled through the walls until I wasn't sure what was my own emotions and those of the other people here. You wouldn't think that an eleven-year-old would be sent to a place like this, but my parents were assholes. They didn't understand what was "wrong" with me and begged and bribed multiple people at the Asylum just to get me sent to here.

The walls of my cell were damp and barren with the scent of mildew permeating every inch of it. I guess, to the outside world, this would be just a room, but to me, this is a prison--the entire Asylum was my own personal hell.

I didn't understand why I could do the things I do. Just touching a person gives me an up-close and personal look at their emotions. Hell, if the emotion was strong enough I could feel it just by being in proximity to the person. What's worse is that another aspect of my "gifts" is that I can manipulate electricity. However, my meager talents didn't stand a chance against Penguins, clowns, and juiced-up men. I was traumatized at the tender age of eleven.

After a week of being in that place, I was approached by a woman with crimson hair and a kind smile. Poison Ivy took me under her wing and protected me from the more sinister people in the Asylum. She made sure no one messed with me and even helped me train myself so I wouldn't be vulnerable ever again.

Eventually, after a year of being stuck at Arkham, the one and only Bruce Wayne saved me and took me in. At first I was grateful. I was free from the Asylum and I would never look back. It wasn't until I was with Bruce for a while that it was revealed that he was the one and only Batman. I was sucked back into the world of crime but on the other side. I was now fighting the people I was stuck with for a year.

I even became great friends with the boy with brown eyes with a tendency towards acrobatics. At this point in time, I thought my life couldn't get even crazier.

That all changed when a girl with raven hair entered my life.

A/N: Ahhhh I'm so happy to share Skylar's story with you guys! I have always been a fan of the Teen Titans, and I was over the moon when this show came out in 2018. I've decided to take a break from Through the Looking Glass for a bit and focus on this one. My goal is to update at least once a week because I want to make sure these chapters are perfect before they are published. Please make sure to like and comment and thank you so much for reading!!
