"Wait! I have something to tell you, Aiko."
Mig called out after the bell rang for dismissal and dragged me to the back of the school building.
"Whoa, slow down! What is it?" I asked, irritated when we stopped and straightened ourselves.
"I, umm, well, how do I put it?" He mumbled to himself as I tap my foot impatiently.
"C'mon, Mig. We don't have all day, we have to go with the others by now."
"Ok, fine. Sheesh, impatient are we?" He rolled his eyes and smirked. I felt my eye twitch.
"Just go on with it! What do you wanna tell me?"
"Oh, I like you."
...what?
I blinked, dumfounded as I absorbed the four words.
That.....
....is that true?
.......PFFT HAHAHAHHAHA that can't be true! This is Mig for goodness's sake!
I tried suppressing my laugh, as I raise an eyebrow at him suspiciously.
Although knowing that he wasn't serious about this stung a bit, I just can't help it.
He rolled his eyes at me and sighed, somehow looking frustrated.
My laughter slowly faded, widening my eyes as realization hit me.
Holy shit...
He isn't.....serious...
Is he?
My heart raced, face heating up. I looked at him, part of me hopeful, but part of me just doesn't want to know.
"Ok, fine. I was lying." He sighed again, looking down.
....that hit me harder than I thought.
Wait, I'm supposed to be relieved by this!
I sighed in relief, and glared at him.
"Then why did you even bother to drag me all the way here just to lie then, bastard? I mean, I was relieved it was a lie but, you made us late for the movies, again!"
"Oh, c'mon it's not my fault we were late yesterday, you took an hour in the bathroom and another hour for choosing something to wear!"
"Hey, I can't find my jacket, and I won't leave until I find it! And why did you lie in the first place anyway?"
"Oh, well, I was just....rehearsing."
"Rehearsing? On what? Confessing?"
"Yeah, so, how was it?"
I thought for a moment before rolling my eyes.
"You're too straight forward, no style whatsoever, and don't just drag her to the back of the building, bastard! They'll think you're a creep!"
"Ehhh?? I was that bad?"
"Yup, now give it up before you get any worse." I turned around and walked away, him following behind.
"Hmmm, oh I know! I could just rehearse with you! Let's do it again tomorrow!"
I groaned in protest, "No."
"I'm your best friend, don't you wanna save me from embarrassment?"
"Uh, no. I'd rather watch you make a fool of yourself. Less trouble for me, and it's fun so why bother?" I shrugged and continued.
