Chapter 5: Answers

A/N: Sorry it takes a while for me to update, I’ll try working on that. It’s just that after that last chapter I’m trying to learn guitar, acoustic guitar to be more specific, and ITS SO FUCKIN HAAAARD when trying to learn online. UGH, anyways, it's been stressing me the hell out, so hence the reason I'm taking a long time to update. Anyways, enjoy the chapter, hope it's good.

5/23/2020 Edit: I started writing this chapter 3 days ago, sorry it took me a while to upload this, as i'm probably going to upload a day after i make this edit, so sorry boys n gals. If you guys want me to try and upload on specific days, i can try to make a schedule for updates for you guys. If not then deal with the random uploads, lol. Oh and i’m starting to reveal just a tad bit more of Mason’s backgroud, hope it’s not cheesy, just thought it’d be cool to have someone like him, try to be a funny character, that was like ya know, depressed. Ima just say depressed to not reveal too much, so yea, lol, sorry for the ‘spoiler’. Anyways, again, enjoy!

Mason after the wrath of the orange “blur” (Tigress’s fist):
BOOM!
Was what it felt like when I woke up with the massive headache that I’ve somehow managed to get? Through the pain on what seemed to be on the left side of my face, I kept my eyes closed as my body was laying on a type of bed whilst my head rested on what seemed like a pillow. I also noticed my guitar and satchel were not in my possession, I hope I didn't lose them or anything. Anyways, continuing my thoughts, what the hell happened? All I can recall was an orange blur heading towards me, and then a loud smacking sound. Wait… did I get knocked out by the tiger chick, or the tigress, I believe is the right way to say it. Hmmm, it seems like that’s the most likely thing to happen according to prior events. That or I finally managed to get out of what seems like a dream/nightmare. Though what did I really have to go back to in my “other world”? AH, this is so damn frustrating!
I'll have to continue my thought process as I'm hearing what seems to be two sets of footsteps close in on me. In addition to that I heard what seemed to be a door slide open, then a sigh. I wonder why someone would sigh? Well, I guess it should be time for me to open my eyes. As I opened my eyes, at a very slow pace I might add, I spoke in a somewhat groggy whisper, “Hello?”
To my relief and somewhat disappointment, I heard a familiar voice, Li’s voice, “OH! Mason, you're awake! Thank the scrolls, I thought that Master Tigress had knocked you out for good!”
Did she just say “master”? I'll have to ask her later. Anyhoo, I sat up straight while rubbing my head trying to numb the annoyance of the pain away, and finally opened my eyes. But as soon as I got up I felt a hand, or excuse me, a paw on my right shoulder. I looked at the paw and ran my eyes upwards to look at whose paw it was, though as I had a good idea on whose it was, I was wanting to take in the beautiful white/grey clouded fur as I ran my eyes up along it, it looked so soft. After 3 seconds, my eyes met with Li’s golden eyes as she spoke to me in a soft voice, “Mason, you should get some rest you did just get knocked out in one punch no?” She smirked at the end of her sentence, causing me to grin at her as I nodded in agreement with her suggestion. After laying my head back down she seemed to walk away to sit down somewhere. After which I heard another, unfamiliar male voice speak, which startled me if I'm going to be honest, “I see you have awoken. Please forgive my student for her actions, she was only trying to protect the Valley.”
I quickly shifted my body upwards so I could get a better view as to who spoke, which to my surprise was a.. what? a raccoon? No, I don’t think so… it looked like a… AH HA! A RED… umm, red panda? Yea, a red panda! Wow never thought I'd see one of these in my lifetime, it looked so, old, and wise. Similar to Oogway but had a less charming voice if you know what I mean. Well anyways, it would be rude not to respond, “Yea, it's alright... But did you say, student? What are you like a trainer of some sort? And what was she protecting this valley from? I mean, I was just trying to get some food.” 
As if on cue, my stomach rumbled, echoing a bit whilst an awkward silence occurred that he soon broke as he said, “Yes, I am the Grandmaster of the Jade Palace, which you are currently in. And Master Tigress is a student of mine. As for your last question we were all just a little bit suspicious, as your kind are very new to here.”
He soon looked from me to Li. Hey, that kinda rhymes… ANYWAYS, he followed that up by saying, “Please, would you excuse us, Li, for a moment, we won't be long.” Li looked at him for a moment and nodded as she began to leave the room we were in. After that, the red panda looked at me and began to get closer to my bed as I started to sit straight up again. 
Not too long after we started conversing. I’d bore you with the details but it wasn’t really worth mentioning what we talked about. All he did was ask me if I am a Human, which I said yes, and I wasn’t sure if I should be concerned about that or relieved that someone here knew what I was. Apart from this, he asked me my name, which I said was Mason, he soon gave me his, which was Master Shifu. Afterward, I followed that up with what does he teach at this here, “Jade Palace” which he said Kung Fu, which Woah, what the fuck! Kung Fu? That’s pretty badass! Well besides that, after a while more of conversing, the conversation finally got worthy of mentioning, he asked me that his students told him they saw me firing lightning and asked me what it was. I was reluctant to tell him the truth but decided to tell him that I knew Oogway, and asked him if he did aswell, which if he said yes, which would be very unlikely, I'd tell him. If not, I'd tell him it actually fired lightning which would only be possible because of my “human magic”. My lies, as you can tell, are quite creative.
Though more interestingly, when the word Oogway escaped my lips, his eyes widened and he seemed to stutter, “Yo- you, know Oog- Oogway!?”
I just raised a brow at his facial expression and stuttering of his response, and just asked him again, “Yea, now do you?”
He said yes. And that my eyes widened as wide as his! I mean WHAT! He knows that magic fuckin turtle aswell!? Was not expecting that man, that’s a mindfuck.
Trying to continue from my shock I decided I should trust him, as there should be no reason he’d be lying to me right? So I told him, “What I fired wasn’t lightning, it was actually a bullet. A bullet is like an arrow, but very small, fast, and lethal. The bullet was fired out of my weapon, an M1911A1, or as some call it, a gun, or more speciffically a pistol. This weapon is only known to us, humans.”
Oh man, his face was verrrrryyyyy puzzled looking. He seemed to want to ask more questions, which I would’ve agreed to but now I had to ask a question, “So, you said you ‘did’ know Oogway, can I ask you how you two met?”
My question probably caught him off guard as he seemed to open his mouth to speak, but closed it, then opened it again, “Ah yes, Master Oogway, he was the previous Grandmaster of the Jade Palace, he was my very own Master here. As to how we met, that is a personal matter I wish not to discuss. Anyways, may I ask you the same? It is really surprising how Oogway knows you, I’m quite curious.”
As he said the final part of his sentence I sighed, and said, “You might wanna get comfortable, it’s a long story.”

An hour later: 
“... and now I’m here.” Was my final sentence of the explanation of the journey I’ve had for the past couple of days. I even told him about the other world thing and the great evil Ooway was talking about. As well as that, I didn’t tell him much about my background, or anything I deemed personal as some of you may have guessed, it is quite dark and sad.
Furthermore, “WHAT?! A great evil only you can stop? And a whole different world!? You must be insane if you think I’d buy into your lie…” was his first response. He even said this whilst shaking his head.
I looked at him and sighed, “You have all the right to believe I’m lying, but what I’m telling you is the truth, please, you must believe me…”
Now it was his turn to look at the other and sigh, “Hmm, I really don’t know what to do… What in the scrolls sakes is this! First tie lung… Now, this! *sigh* Listen here Mason, I believe you, you seem the type of man or creature, to not lie, so I will trust you, though I still have some suspicion. Even with that I myself, and the other 6 here will try to help you in your current predicament. And about that great evil, I’ll have to meditate on that, we’ll just have to see what happens in time.” 
YEA BABY! Finally going to be able to get some help and hopefully, get back home! YES! Well, while i’d like to elabarote more on my joy, who’s Tie Lung? Is he like some bad guy or something? Hmmm, i’ll have to ask him later as while my thoughts were happening, he was being silent for a moment but abruptly spoke once more, “So, for the time being, your weapon will be kept from you, as a safety precaution. You will be living here at the Jade Palace, in this room, until we can sort a few more things out. It should be around lunchtime right now, you can have Li show you your way to the kitchen as she was there earlier. You two will wait for Po to make lunch then eat, and afterwards it would be best if you headed back to rest after that. As for Li, I don’t know what she would like to do after lunch, she could stay here in the other guest room if she’d like, as she seems to be your companion. Understood?”
I nodded at his suggestion, or command, I don’t know which, this Lil red panda has quite the stern voice, and said, “Sir, yes sir.”
He began to slide the door of “my room” now apparently and began to leave. After he did, Li slipped in and sat on the end of the bed I was resting on.
I decided to speak first and asked her, “Hey Li, so this Shifu guy said you could show me where the kitchen is right?”
She said yes as she helped me get up and started to lead me to the kitchen of this here ‘Jade Palace’. 
Whilst exiting my room, we seemed to slowly walk out into a hallway. I noticed the exterior of my room and noted that there seemed another 7 similar to this. It was quite bland if ima be honest, it was like a bunch of paper walls with semi fancy designs. Unfortunately I couldn’t take in more detail as Li said, “Cmon, this way.” 
While walking I got curious about two things, 1, I wonder what happened after I was apparently ‘knocked out’, and 2  I remembered Shifu telling me that he wasn’t sure what Li would do after lunch, like stay here, or go do something. I don’t know, even I’m not sure. So I decided to ask her those questions in order, “So Li, what happened after i was ‘knocked out’.”
She turned her head to me and looked at me for a slight second, revealing a smirk, as i think she thought me getting my ass handed was funny, then went back to facing forward, “Well for starters you were carried up to the Jade Palace into the room we were just in, then i just sat there with you, waiting to see if you were okay.”
 I chuckled lightly, “Aww, thanks, that was nice of you.” Wow, she seemed to, ‘care’ about me. It made me remember one of the first times I seemed to be actually cared about, and that was when I was fighting somewhere in the Atlantic ocean as a pilot. The reason I was being ‘cared’ about, was because I managed to rack up 40 kills on a mission, making me one of the first pilots to do so. Everyone congratulated me, for the first time, they seemed to really notice me, and you know, care about me. After that my status in my ‘squad’, I was thenfore recognised as Demon, everything seemed to be actually getting better, for the first time in my life I was becoming a bit more social, I almost made a friend or two. Things finally seemed to start to turn around after 24 years of me living, but then this ‘other world’ happened. So the time gap between lets call it my big break period, and this shit show period, was 4 months apart from those two events? Yea, lifed just fucked me in the ass, fuckin crazy man.
Despite the memories flooding back, I didn't notice Li say, “Oh it wasn’t no big deal.” So I just then asked Li my second question, “So Li, what are you going to do after lunch?”
