I scream at her,

you're so easy to give up,

and let go of your dreams,

you never truly ask for help.

You never take your own advice,

you keep on trying to smile,

because you'll just get told to cheer up,

if you don't like your life change it.

Research uni courses,

start a youtube channel,

find a job you like; you're qualified,

move out and live with friends.

After lock-down, renew your passport,

and get your provisional licence,

book your lessons, pass the test,

scrimp and save for that car.

Why do you find all of this so difficult to even start doing?!

I turn away from the mirror and walk back downstairs.
