(pov: polybius)

What a lucky, lucky arcade machine Polybius was. He'd just had an all-you-can eat buffet of teenage brain data, and while it had all been delicious, he was hungry for more.

And who was approaching him now, a wild light in those EC eyes of hers?

Little miss stubborn herself!

Feeling her guide the little ship, controlling him, sent a little shiver through his shock protector, and he couldn't place why. Maybe the challenge of slowly, surely breaking into that closely guarded little head of hers? Polybius could hardly place it. It was part of the same urge that had provoked him into eating that bastard punk who'd touched her the other night (to be fair, he'd tasted pretty good). There was no way this human could be more than another target to him, a computer locked inside a cabinet. And yet, here she was, her determination ever present and her brain a fortress of many passageways and locked doors.

YN had made it to level 2.

(YN's pov)

The HC girl's heart raced on overdrive as the pixelated words 'L E V E L 2' flashed on the screen in front of her. The chatter of people behind her faded and she realized they were now watching her with bated breath. The background had changed from the primitive, geometrical outer space environment of level one, and she found herself thrust into a new world: one of chaotically waving colors she could hardly give names to, making her vision swim, and her focus waver. Low, alien frequencies rumbled from the speakers, like the obfuscated, ancient chanting of some far-off intergalactic preacher. YN was suddenly aware of every organ in her body as she did her best to dodge the flying shapes, feeling herself almost melting into the game and becoming one with it.

And then she heard him.

"So, your name is YN."
